How much insurance are you paying on your C8 and which provider is the best? I’m paying $400/month from Allstate.

Allstate sucks!! Had many bad experiences with them. No good ones. How much insurance are you paying on your C8 and which provider is the best? I’m paying $400/month from Allstate.
Yeah. I used to have TD. They were good. Bélair was also good when I had them back in the days. Problem was they kept raising my insurance even though I was clean for 12 years. Now I switched to Allstate. They got me in and then new year new rates. Bigger problem is I got a ticket earlier this year so now I’m worried about switching. Haven’t shopped around but definitely not sure they are a good option. Thinking of going to see if TD will improve my rates now.Allstate sucks!! Had many bad experiences with them. No good ones.
You have to call around. Ontario rates differ dramatically from area to area for a given person. Rates can differ dramatically depending on the insured and their situation.
I’m also in Vaughan.Allstate sucks!! Had many bad experiences with them. No good ones.

That will get you closer to a more accurate estimate, but still too many variables. I'd never go to a bank for insurance. I just don't trust them when it comes to claims. CIBC lied blatantly to me. I had to go to the insurance Bureau of Canada to get the right answer and only then did CIBC admit the truth. Too bad Statefarm left. They were amazing to deal with.I’m also in Vaughan.
Yeah. Agree on the bank thoughts but meloche monnex has been around for some time. More insurance company focused I think. That will get you closer to a more accurate estimate, but still too many variables. I'd never go to a bank for insurance. Wtf. lol. Where do you live?I used a broker for many years that dealt with most of the 15 or so major carriers in Ontario...if one raised their rates then they easily switched us to another. The past few years we've gone with carriers that our former employers had group deals with (retired now but still getting the rates)...first The Personal and now Co-Operators. Both great rates & great service. Since the day I bought my 2019 C7 brand new, I've paid about $1,100 per year...less than our 2x Subaru's.
Lived in Scarborough when I bought the C7...now in Bowmanville. I had thought our rates would go down moving out of the city but not a penny of savings there. Maybe it's different now, but about 20 years ago I bought a used VW from a friend who lived 5 minutes from us across the border in Pickering, and he literally was paying 40% less because apparently Pickering was a lower risk area. Ironically he drove to our local GO train which for me was 2 minutes away and 10 for him...so he would've had a way higher risk of an accident in rush hour than I would have.Wtf. lol. Where do you live?
In Vaughan as well, just over $1700 a year with Intact.I’m also in Vaughan.
I was surprised too Murray...when we moved here I was 67 and retired. Maybe because Co-Operators rates were already so much lower than our previous carriers (Traders General & Western), they didn't have much wiggle room on the rate. I'm not complaining paying less than $100/month for full coverage on the C7 that still has quite a substantial resale value.Age makes a huge difference. Also, moving out of Scarborough to Bowmanville should have greatly reduced rates, but you have to ask. lol. Mine dropped by 75% when I moved to Uxbridge from Markham. Markham one of the highest rated areas to one of the lowest. You have to shop around and ask.
The biggest factor other than driving record, claims etc is the vehicle theft rate in your immediate geographical location. Move to another area and your rate could be less than half. Sucks .How much insurance are you paying on your C8 and which provider is the best? I’m paying $400/month from Allstate.
Funny Story that happened to me in the fall, when putting my car up for the winter. The biggest factor other than driving record, claims etc is the vehicle theft rate in your immediate geographical location. Move to another area and your rate could be less than half. Sucks .

That is funny! Once I put mine in storage for the winter months, because no road coverage is required, my premiums go down to 10% of that for the full coverage...like $10/month instead of $100 for fire/theft/comprehensive.Funny Story that happened to me in the fall, when putting my car up for the winter.
I called my insurance company (Inova, Costco) to inform them that I was putting my car in storage, and if I had to do anything special with them to ensure it stayed well insured. "Nope, just need the address where it will be stored" ... so gave that to them, figured I was all done.
3 days later I got an email from them with my new Premium for the C8. The price went up $82.00 for some unknown to me reason. I called them and was informed that the location (remember I gave them the address) where I was storing my car for the winter, was in a "less desirable" area than where I live, and there is more crime, etc ....
If anyone is familiar with Saint John, NB & surrounding area, this is laughable at best. But I just laughed and saved the story for times just like this.
Can't wait until April to check and see if my car has been stolen or not![]()
The only ones who can figure out how actuaries think and calculate risk is another actuary. Very mysterious by design to a point I would suggest. It’s gotten to the point where they seem to break it down by neighborhood now and not just province or city . Luck of the draw relative to your address. Kinda lucky here in that regard I guess as we are at the end of the only road heading south. Nowhere to hide for hundreds of kilometres, lol. I’m paying $860 per year for full coverage for my 24’ including full replacement cost in the event of total loss. With the usual storage reduction. I’m with TD . Your mileage may vary, lol.Funny Story that happened to me in the fall, when putting my car up for the winter.
