Spring is almost here

5cm snow last night, more this morning, the ground it white and below normal temps for the next 5 days.

On the plus side managed to change the left front wheel bearing on the Sentra and the noise went away! Only took about 90 minutes and unlike the right wheel bearing a couple of months ago I even installed that silly little sheet metal cover the right way instead of 180 degrees around!!

Maybe I can build my way up to sweeping Manny's garage with performance like that.

Heck even started the 1150 tractor two days ago, discovered that like only one other tractor on teh farm (the 1967 JD 5020) this happens to have a 24 volt starting system and mis-identified the batteries for being in parallel when they were in series - oops! But replaced a questionable battery cable with a pair of shorties and a split-bolt connection and just touched the key, no block heat, no ether and it just fired up instantly, 65 to 70 psi oil pressure, my heart sang! For me this tractor is the farm machinery equivalent of the Z06................just like the Z06 I can't wait to drive it this spring!!

Cheers,

Garry

It sure is Brian. I was so positive when I was able to get the door open at the north end of the machine shed where my trailer is. I still have to find a place to unload the siding that is on it but I thought the hard part was going to be able to open the door since it is usually in ice for another few weeks yet.

And I REALLY hate the roads getting muddy, starting to dry and get hard and then sloppy once again.........and the mud and rocks on the paved raods now, well not that windshield could get worse but again annoying.

So close but just not quite ready to have things rolling yet!

So are you C7'ing this year??

Cheers,

Garry

What is this grass and moss that you speak of. Someone said that it is green. Weird, really weird. Cutting it every week???? I've only blown snow a half dozen times this whole winter and that's just the driveway. Me cut 3 1/2 acres of the grass stuff.....forget that. I don't think I like this summer stuff. I already sweat too much.:nono:

Snowing with freezing rain expected this afternoon. Will it never end?

I actually thought about moving my lawn mower out of the shed and putting my snow blower away...............

The current forecast:

"Today is mainly cloudy. 60 percent chance of flurries this morning then 60 percent chance of rain showers this afternoon. Risk of a thunderstorm this afternoon. High plus 4.
Tonight
Cloudy with 60 percent chance of rain showers or flurries this evening then partly cloudy. Risk of a thunderstorm early this evening. Low minus 5."

Oh joy!

Well, forecast for +11 for Tuesday, +14 for Wednesday............

Cheers,

Garry

Took mine out of storage yesterday was a nice +9 here, tooted around for about 100km.

Man does it feel good to get back behind the wheel!

Today and tomorrow will have some good temps, rain tonight and tomorrow night to help clean the roads up.

Looks like spring has SPRUNG

So, Easter Sunday, +1 to +2. Just went out the Sea Can and opened the doors to see my baby! It was so nice to be able to run my hands on her rear end for the first time in several months. Still a bit dirty from the drive home last Oct or Nov or whenever it was that I had the oil changed. It happened to be snowing that morning and so even though I cleaned her up pretty like she got a little dirty on the way home.

Now while I wanted to use my tilt trailer to take her out, it happend to be that I have a supply of 2 by 12's 10 or 12 feet long and there happens to be a convient snow bank in front of the Sea Can too so I could use that to help give me the necessary angle.

I am so tempted to try to back it out as it is going to be warmer tomorrow so the snow will be a bit harder right now. Of course knowing my luck it will break though the snow and then get stranded there for a few days until the snow finishes melting and it is sitting on the grass.

On the other hand it might work and I could back the car onto the grass and then could look at it lovingly until I can get the road insurance on it.

No more snow in the forecast.............

Am I stupid enough to try this????????

Start up your betting pools fellows!

Garry don't do it. These rushed adventures almost always go bad in a hurry.

And yes, I am stupid enough to try this. I hope that the 2 by 12's at strong enough............

I figured I'd take some video clips of this for fun too.

Some criteria, did the battery minder do its' job over the winter and will the car start?

Plus it will take me a few seconds as well since I have to climb in through the trunk as space is too tight to open the door.............

I am pretty excited though, I just hope that I'm not going to screw this up royally.

Stay tuned!

Cheers,

Garry
