Spring is almost here

Well, after a couple of nice warm weeks we're back into monsoon season with lots of rain !!! Just when it was starting to feel comfortable driving the Vette again. I did however, managed to roll on about 800 Km in those two weeks though!!

Well, I screwed Saskatchewan with snow. Last Wednesday there was NO snow in the forecast, all positive temperatures, I was heading out of town on Friday so I put the summer tires on Wednesday night. Thursday morning, 10cm of snow forecasted for Saturday but I left the tires on as it wouldn't be snowing where we were going and the temperatures looked good. Get to our destination, blizzard forecasted for Sunday and below 0 temps all through the week. Needless to say, the drive home was slow.
Funny how it works like that and I know better than to put summer tires on before mid April at the earliest. ahahaha. But Spring is almost here, I'm keeping the summers on!

See I heard you had snow and left my winter tires on, I was in Stoon Monday for the night then headed to Regina on Tuesday, they have way more snow then you do, some drifts close to 4 feet plus on some streets. At least the hi-way was summer driving conditions all the way there.

Currently lightly raining here in Grimshaw Alberta but that will help speed the removal of the snow. The forecast is for +10 today with 20 to 40 km winds so that could really start the drying if the showers stop. Most exciting is the forecast for upcoming +15 on Friday and Sunday so 1st 2015 firing of the Z06 could be scheduled for then. I have to say I'm pretty excited to hear the car again!!

For those of you with snow, my heart goes out to you and I hope it comes to pass soon......

Cheers,

Garry

Forecast has changed, showers today and tomorrow, 20 to 40 km wind. At least I was able to open the shed door at the farm to be able to get the trailer out that I'll need to eventually take the car out of the Sea Can. But I sure don't need any more rain. We were loading grain yesterday and a "sea of mud" comes close to describing things!

Send sun if you can spare any please!

Cheers,

Garry

8F here this morning but temperatures to climb to mid 40s F by Thursday but then a high of 32F for next Saturday. This will let the snow melt and get away gently. Mid April can generally be a start to the car season around here but we will just have to wait and see. It would appear that there has been at least 4-5 feet of frost in the ground and that could mess up a lot of roads this spring. I'm itching to get out. :driving:

Dang it,Keith, it was 12F here last night -- you guys had it a few degrees colder. Abnormally cold for spring. If this keeps up the robins will say to hell with it and leave.:D

At least we've had no more snow to speak of and the sun and wind have all but made what was here disappear.

Keep the faith: Spring type weather is coming.

+10 today, 60% chance of showers tomorrow, 30% chance of flurries on Wednesday - ye ha!

A dandelion spotted in my gf's south facing flowerbed two days ago, does that count??

Still no spring start up but it has to be soon I'm thinking. Two motorcyclists spotted on Friday.........

Cheers,

Garry

Well, still no Z06 out but a beautiful day here in Northern Alberta! +10, just changed the winter tires on my sedan - discovered that the front left wheel bearing needs to be replaced. Thankfully I did the right one over the winter and bought the left one at the same time to have on hand - looks like that was smart! Hopefully tomorrows job while it is showering all day and blowing 20 to 40 km.............

Cheers,

Garry

Snowing really hard right now in Haliburton. Just a nasty day, things were starting to dry up and now it is wall to wall MUD.
