100th Running of the Indy 500 this year, 2016. I think the "Roadster Era" produced some of the most beautiful open wheel race cars ever built. Well maybe the FWD Miller 91's are right up there as well.

Here is a restoration of a Offenhauser powered 1957 Kurtis Kraft 500G2 that was originally to have Carroll Shelby behind the wheel as the "Hoover Motor Express". Shelby decided to stay with sports cars so the car sat out the 1957 race. The car raced many years under various ownerships and is restore to the 1961 version as the Brady 43. Rex Easton, Elmer George, Eddie Russo, Al Keller, Bob Mathouser, Ronnie Duman all drove the racer. It evolved into a "supermodified" racing on the west coast for many years. It was found in a tool shed in the midwest and restored.

I don't know a lot about Porsche models but I think this is an early 356. I looked it over and I think the "patina" was real. A barn find, who knows? Very neat old racer and now street licensed Porsche.

This "midget" racer is powered by a Ford Flathead V8. This would have been a very quick racer in its day. Has a New York state history. Just needs a little mud on it.

It's definately a close-up....I think he must have used a step ladder. All kidding aside, it is a great picture. I have tried a number of shots like that and thought some were pretty good.... right up until I saw Tims....lol....
