Performance exhaust

Asking for a friend with Standard(non npp) exhaust and has an oppournunity to get NPP mufflers. Is the wiring from factory to run the actuators present and can control inside the car? What is a reasonable $ for a new npp muffler takeoff with all 4 actuators present….thx
Sadly no . But there may be aftermarket solutions but I'm not familiar with any personally I'm afraid. OK , 10 second search found this.

Yes—there are aftermarket exhaust systems that give you NPP-style variable sound on a C8 that didn’t come with the factory Performance Exhaust, but they don’t work exactly like OEM NPP unless you add a controller or simulators.
How it works on a non‑NPP C8
Factory NPP (Performance Exhaust) uses electronically controlled valves that open/close with drive modes.
Base (non‑NPP) C8s don’t have those valves or the wiring/logic to drive them, so a ā€œplug‑and‑play NPP cat‑backā€ designed for factory NPP cars won’t give you mode‑based sound changes by itself.
Aftermarket options that still work
1) Valved cat‑backs made for non‑NPP cars (with remote/controller)
Some vendors sell complete valved cat‑back systems for the C8 that include their own valve hardware and a remote or electronic controller, so you get ā€œquiet/loudā€ regardless of whether the car had NPP from the factory.
Example: ValvedExhausts.ca ā€œCorvette C8 Valved Catbackā€ – includes downpipes, cat‑back, valves, and a remote receiver; notes the OEM NPP valves can be mounted but are not functional, and the system uses its own valve kit to欺骗 the ECU.
These systems effectively add NPP‑like functionality to a base car by supplying both the valves and the control method.
2) Standard aftermarket cat‑backs + valve simulators
Most mainstream C8 cat‑backs (AWE, Borla, Corsa, Fabspeed, etc.) are sold in two flavors: ā€œNPP/valvedā€ and ā€œnon‑NPP.ā€ For a base car:
You buy the non‑NPP version of the cat‑back (no factory valves needed).
If you want to reuse OEM valves or run a valved setup without the factory wiring, you can add C8 exhaust valve simulators to prevent check‑engine lights when valves are deleted or not connected.
This route doesn’t automatically give you mode‑based sound; it just lets you run an aftermarket system cleanly. To get variable sound you’d need a system that includes its own valve control (like option 1) or a custom solution.
3) ā€œNPP‑compatibleā€ systems (for cars that already have NPP)
Many listings you’ll see (Corsa, Fabspeed, SRM, etc.) explicitly say ā€œfits factory NPP exhaustā€ and rely on the car’s existing valve wiring and ECU logic. Those are not what you want if your car never had the Performance Exhaust option, because there’s no factory valve control to leverage.
Practical recommendation
If your goal is ā€œquiet in Tour, loud in Sport/Trackā€ on a non‑NPP C8:
Look specifically for a C8 valved cat‑back that includes its own controller/remote and is advertised as working on non‑NPP/base cars.
Confirm with the vendor that:
It’s intended for non‑NPP C8s.
It includes valves + controller (not just ā€œNPP compatibleā€).
No dealer relearn is required beyond what they specify.
