As mentioned earlier I am migrating stuff over to a different datacenter in Toronto today. CCF will appear a bit slow and may go down a few times. Part of the plan.

The steps are as follows for those of you that are looking for bedtime reading:

1. Migrate database to Toronto location - DONE as of now
2. Replicate to Montreal (Redundant) - Nov 6 DONE
3. Replicate to Seattle (Mirror) - Nov 8
4. Migrate files and caches to Toronto - Nov 6
5. Replicate to Montreal (Redundant) - Nov 6 DONE
6. Replicate to Seattle (Mirror) - Nov 9
7. Setup High availability load balancers (West) - Nov 10
8. Setup HA LBs (East) - Nov 6 DONE
9. Migrate domain records - Kicked off today IN PROGRESS
10. Kickoff Geographical Redundant monitors - Nov 12
11. Try to break it a bunch of times - Nov 12
12. Run another logo competition - Nov 13

So all in all by Nov 12th we should be fully geographically redundant as well as being fully redundant within our datacenters.

Blah blah blah....

Thanks gents. Truly wasn't a boast just like keeping it transparent however nonsensical it sounds. Need to share thanks with our Riley and our crack ninja moderator crew. Crack always an option for us whilst keeping the board clean and free-running. :)

Anyway, the switch is now in play. If things start loading up faster you're on the new server, if you get wonkiness or it's still a bit slow give it time. Repointing servers and propagating the info across the interwebs is not an exact science even in this day and age.

And by the way Nik. Steps 1 through 10 are far beyond my realm of comprehension but Step 11 I am totally familiar with. If there was ever a technologically challenged person who know just enough to be dangerous and break something, it's definitely me...lol.....

hahahahaha.... now that was all a foreign language to me although I did recognize the words Riley, ninja and crack (heard that one on the news today).........

You're hired. I'm terrible at breaking stuff but stuff always breaks when I look away.
