NOT on a Corvette! - My Daughter's mother in law (and good friend of ours) needs a new windshield in her Lexus NX SUV. She does not have glass insurance coverage so it will be a cash deal. Lexus quoted her $1800. Car has the usual electronics attached to the windshield but $1800 is nuts. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
welcome to reality ! Replaced my windshield last fall on my C7, Z06; $1800.
If the Lexus has HUD, you need the expensive glass in order for it to work.
The lower cost glass is around half the cost, but HUD is lost.
And Lexus classes itself as an upper calibre manufacturer !
My 2c.
Tony

Always surprises me how few people use the search function here. I typed in windshield glass calgary and here you go. Members here have used this company and give them great ratings.

I used Easy Auto Glass several times and was always pleased.

I've been using Crystal Glass and have had work done at their branches in both the Calgary and Edmonton areas. I have glass coverage on all of my cars but the deductible on the Corvettes is $1000. I've decided to get glass policies for the Corvettes from AMI Glass to provide additional glass coverage. The annual premium is around $180/car but if I need new glass, the deductible is only $50. My experience having been born and raised in Alberta is sooner or later your bound to get a rock strike that will damage your windshield.

I also use AMI for my Corvette. They call it a Chevrolet and consider all Chevrolets equal for pricing purposes. When I had AMI quote on my Wife's Infiniti EX35 their fee was more than a new windshield if bought for cash.

That's odd that the premium for the Infinity costs more than the replacement cost for the windshield. Glad this isn't the case for the Corvettes as I've had to replace a couple of windshields prior to getting AMI coverage which set me back over $3K.

I agree, spoke to them on the phone and they said I should be thankful that the corvette is a chev. When it becomes a stand alone brand we might be screwed.
