Hey guys,

Looking to get my C8 lowered (front lift car, so front collars + rear coilover adjustment).

I got quoted $1,500 + tax for the job including alignment and collars, which feels pretty steep. From what I’ve seen online, some people are getting this done quite a bit cheaper, even in Ontario, so just trying to sanity check that price.

Curious if anyone has recommendations for shops in Ontario, preferably GTA, that have experience with C8s and are more reasonably priced.

Appreciate any input.

I'm in Ontario a little north of the gta I'm also looking for a gd shop to do alignments, I'll be lowering the C8 myself tho with the coil over wrenches.

Please let me know if you find a gd shop.

Hi. My understanding is that lowering a C8 with the front lift option is something to be careful with. As with anything though it all depends on how you go about it .

Yes, it is generally Okay to lower a C8 Corvette that has the front‑lift option, but you have to do it the right way so you don’t break or bind the lift system.
How lowering works with front lift-
On a C8 with the factory front‑lift system, the front shocks are pre‑compressed and use a special “lift arm” or spacer; you cannot simply turn the stock coilovers like on a non‑lift car.
To lower the front, you typically install a small spacer or “lowering collar” that sits under the front lift assembly, which effectively lowers the whole front strut while still leaving space for the lift to operate.
The rear can usually be lowered via the adjustable rear coil‑over perches (or by installing the Z51 rear hardware on base‑model C8s), then you match the front drop to it.
What’s “safe” height
Most experienced installers and performance shops keep the C8 lowered only about 3/4–1 inch from stock to stay within the factory suspension geometry and shock travel.
If you go too low (for example, aggressive lowering springs or a full aftermarket kit), you can max out the lift‑system travel, preload the shocks, and risk damaging the lift mechanism or altering geometry, which hurts handling and ride.
Practical advice for your C8
Use a reputable C8‑specific kit that includes front lift‑system lowering collars and matched rear adjustments (Paragon, etc.), as these are designed so the front‑lift button still works normally.
If you like a mild stance without drama, stick to around 0.75 inch drop front and rear; that typically keeps the front‑lift function fully usable and doesn’t compromise the suspension tuning.
If you already have the Z51 or Z06 suspension, respect the manufacturer’s recommended lowering limits and avoid “chopping” springs or stacking spacers beyond the design.
In short: yes, it’s okay to lower a lift‑equipped C8, but you must use lift‑compatible parts and keep the drop modest so the front‑lift system and suspension geometry stay intact.

The owner at Robinson Automotive in Mississauga said that he has done quote a few lowering jobs with the lift kit and he said it is quite a bit of work. So if you want to go to a shop that has experience, they definitely have it.

Kirk knows what's he's doing at Robinson, but how much does he charge to install the collars and alignment?

When I did my Stingray years ago at Champion, it was $500ish plus alignment.
