This video is a must-watch. I learned a lot from it.

When I first researched oil options, I noticed that most people recommended Mobil 1 Supercar 5W-50. However, one of my closest friends, who’s a serious gearhead, told me I should go with Amsoil because it works great in his GT350. I was planning to follow his recommendation until I watched this video.

From what I’ve learned, GM and Mobil worked together to develop Mobil 1 Supercar 5W-50 specifically for the LT6 engine. That means the formulation was designed around the engine’s needs from the start.

Rather than getting caught up in marketing claims or brand loyalty, it’s worth paying attention to what the engine was actually engineered and validated with. For the LT6, that oil appears to be Mobil 1 Supercar 5W-50.

Yes well Mobil 1 0 w 40 on hot summer days in my Gallardo in stop and go traffic would drop the oil pressure to less than 10 lbs at idle and trip the low oil pressure warning light. Switched to Amsoil and it never happened again, always 20 psi minimum. Personally not a fan of Mobil 1 . But that is just me, to each there own .

I use what the owners manual recommends. I get all service done at my dealer!
