tnx once again
Welcome to the forum topfighter and congratulations on your first Corvette. You have stepped into a class of vehicle that is rarely called a "muscle car" though. The Corvette is a sports car. They were built to satisfy every driver's wish. Whether you track your car or not, they are superior in almost every stock category to almost everything short of the exotics; and to top it off they are the true and only American Sports Car. The C5 was also the first model that the little light bulb went on for GM engineers and the drive line was radically altered to move the transmission to the rear of the car and integrate it into a transaxle assembly. This gave the car a 50/50 weight distribution and instantly made a world of difference in ride comfort and handling ability. These cars handle like they are on rails.
I'm a little confused about the Z05 designation though. To my knowledge Corvette didn't produce a Z05 (but I could be proven wrong).. I'm thinking that may have been a typo and what you have is a Z06. If so, it has the LS6 engine producing 385 horsepower and will 'go like snot'. These cars do demand respect and while not trying to scare you, a heavy foot on the go pedal can get you into trouble if you're not paying attention.
We have lots of C5 owners here with a ton of knowledge about these cars that will no doubt be chiming in.
Trust this though. This car will put a smile on your face every time you get behind the wheel and for most of us, the smile never goes away.
And as Derek mentioned above, we'd love to see pictures of your car (drag and drop, copy and paste, or use the Attach files tab bottom left), and hear a bit more about you. Wherever you are there are likely lots of members around you, meet and greets, show and shines, or just a day cruise somewhere happening. Again, welcome to the forum, and the world of Corvettes.
