A lot of that has to do with the fact that people feel safe here , no one pass judgement on their fellow member . If anything we all work together for a common goal

Without this site my life would not be complete lol.........some would say LAME......but I check this place out 2-3 times a day!!!
I'm a member on another forum and the "core" group of members/moderators are good, but I spend more time and enjoy this site/group so much more. I haven't been on the other site in months and it was probably more than 6 months before that. The members here are solid. The fact that some of us are able to meet up and hang out in person ( yeah, I'm talking about hanging out at Manny's
). I hope this site never changes.:beer:

I check in at least once a day. Really enjoy the fellowship on here and having met some members in person makes it even better. I'm also a member on an American Vette site with some good members but this place feels like home to me.
I also, am a member at the "Other" site, and a couple of others as well. But this is home.
I found the same thing with my other hobby; Woodturning... the Canadian site wins hands down.
I guess it's the Canadian content, chatting with guys that are in your neck of the woods, the ability to meet up with some of the members.

I have to agree ...This is a great forum, and being retired I have nothing but time on my hands, so I come here several times a day hoping that there will be a post to help me "make up my mind !"
I'm still agonizing over ... "should I or shouldn't I buy this car !?!?! ".... Will I hate myself in the morning
There's a guy standing there with his hand out , just waiting for me to drop a big wad of money in it !
So come on people get posting .... anything about your cars and your experiences .. oh yeah , and lots of pics ! !

:agree: Brian, I'm a member of many Corvette/ Car/ Motorcycle/ dog sites. Canadian sites are always better.
We can't hardly wait for May 25, 2013 to come to the show at Manny's shop so that we can put faces to many of these names. Hopefully we can also cross paths with the guys east of Toronto in our own area. Things can only get better. Canadians seem to be more mannerly in general and it shows up in the overall attitude on our web sites.

My brother found out late this fall he has cancer....we took a trip through the mountains shortly after in my vette just to get away. He couldn't believe the comfort performance and economy that the vette has to offer. After a couple thousand klm with most of them with the brother behind the wheel he purchased my vette pictured below taken on our trip.
I have yet to speak to anyone who regretted ever owning a vette however I have spoken to several who wished they would have. (remember the commercial of the ole guy who had bought new house siding instead) Don't be the guy who never experienced the thrill of owning such a fine machine. Even if you need to sell a few years down the road you will get close, the same or more than what you pay now (buy smart).
My brother .............well I think by that smile he had already made his decision.

I loved that commercial. At that time I was living the Harley lifestyle. If I remember correctly a young boy and his Grandfather were sitting on a front porch when a Harley Davidson went by. The Grandson asked his Grandfather if he ever owned a Harley. The grandfather replied no son I bought aluminum siding instead.
You have to live every day as if it's you last. I have been ticking one big item off my bucket list every year, for I can't remember how many years.

And something more to add .. I just caught a thing on TV where a women spent $80,000 on a ................ wedding dress! !
After hearing that , 50 grand on a really awesome car seems REALLY sensible !

it is interesting to note what we find therapeutic in our lives. it amazes me how my mind relaxes and the positive outlook i get when i slip behind the wheel of my ol' 76. working on the car gives me satisfaction that i can only explain to someone else who truly " gets it ". once i complete my new shop i will be able to really get down to it. after a 37 year hiatus i will build another race car and be as happy as if i was in my right mind ! people ask me why i want to drag race at my age - my reply - because golf only takes one ball !!!

I do agree with you on this....Although drag racing doesn't really appeal to me, I can see why you would want to. When I fire up my car and head out on the road it brings a feeling I just can't describe. When I meet up with other corvette guys and we roll across the road in a convoy, it just doesn't get any better.
I do however disagree with your golf quote: In my case; it takes a lot of balls to play like me !
That is pretty awesome. I had no idea! Thanks for all the kind words everyone. That is what we wanted when we started this forum. BUT with that said, the forum wouldn't be what it is without the great members that we have so it is all because of you guys! Now if the fricking Mod could learn the ins and outs of this forum to keep it up to date and to make it more user friendly, that would help a lot. Manny, I am sooooo sorry for not updating your banner. I just don't know how to get into the guts of this thing and I can't ever get a hold of Mike to give me a hand. If anyone knows vBulletin, please let me know!
Somebody, I just read through the posts. That is really too bad to hear. Give your brother the best from us! I hope he is doing well, beats this terrible disease and has many more years left! That, really does suck. Sounds like he has a great brother to support him and dare I say an even better car?
