Valentines day

Well, the first year I had a really nice dinner planned and got her some jewelry. It was actually a horrible evening. So the next year I took her to Arby's. The disappointment on her face was so great that now she expects nothing so this year we are just having some friends over. :D

See that's what I don't want to do .I don't want to set the standards very high .

I have found a card ,the young guy next to me said wow that was fast my reply "all you have to tell here is you mean every word in the card" :D

Good morning NEW C5er,

That is very interesting technology. While it doesn't have a Bluray player her laptop does have a DVD player and that might be good enough.

I wonder about using Smartphone time/data volumes as my internet is by comparison without any terrabyte limits for downloading so far as I know.......and she would not want to be paying additional fees some months for having exceeded her basic allotment.

I may send this to her and see what she thinks as she is a whole lot more tech savvy than I am.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Cheers,

Garry

Garry, if you want the best way to let her watch Netflick on TV get a "Chromecast". It is really lovely watching it on a big screen TV. Best $35 I've spent on media in a long time.. But they are only available from the States. Google it and then if you want, go and order it from Amazon etc.

Well Steve, all I had to do was severely disappoint her, now her expectations are so low that anything above making her cook dinner is a win! :D

However, this worked for me but I don't recommend it.

Now as you are the same age as my father, I am trying to think of what my mom would have liked.... I think if he was just there for her, took her out for a supper and gave her a card with some flowers, she would have loved that. Basically spending time to be with her for her would have been all she wanted.

I like your first paragraph and it really fits for me .Second paragraph about spending time with her wow I'm not sure ,maybe I'll text her :D Oh,I did get a card so far and some new ear rings .I need to show some appreciation after all we might not be together in another 60 years.

Saved a few bucks as I was going all out and take to the damn China rose .She got sick before she ate (not serious ) so I had to go by myself :D

Well the thought was there -- what the heck.

well I broke down late Friday and asked her if she wanted to go out for supper, she said "no, because i've gained five pounds in the last month." I proceeded to tell her that I thought that was a very conservative estimate ..... man I didn't see that frying pan coming ....
