Greetings fellow members. I was wondering if there is a difference in the trickle chargers for different model years on C8? I can’t remember exactly but I believe I read somewhere that some trickle chargers don’t work with 2024 and later model years. I was looking at this one 85132786 - General Motors Charger | GM Parts Depot, Ottawa Ontario (https://www.tubmangmpartsdepot.ca/p/105871357/84928267.html), but it says it’s not compatible with my vehicle. Any leads or input?
Hi and welcome to the forum ! First I’ve heard of this but it may well be but I can’t think why . I ordered the Corvette branded one when I ordered my 2024 and it just plugs into the 12 port in the frunk . Not sure if earlier models have that or not. Im sure someone will chime in though.
OK , just did a quick AI search and found this….. and all C8 model years apparently have the 12 volt port in the frunk.

The Corvette branded battery tender is compatible with all model years of the C8 Corvette, starting from 2020 through at least the 2025 model year. It is designed specifically for C8 Corvettes and features a plug-in cord and a storage bag with the crossed flags logo. The tender connects via a 12V outlet (cigarette lighter style port) inside the car, allowing easy battery maintenance without opening the hood or trunk. It is highly recommended for maintaining battery health during periods when the car is not driven for several days or more.
This OEM battery charger replaces part number 85132786 and fits these C8 model years: 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. The tender helps keep the battery charged and avoids electrical issues associated with low battery voltage during extended storage

Thank you. My C7 had the same port in the trunk. I bought the car used and the dealership wanted close to $400 for it. I was ready to pay a markup but not that much. Just wanted to make sure since the website posted above said it’s not compatible with my model. Although looking at pictures i can’t see any difference.

This was posted before by @Mr.Corvette .

I was looking at getting this but wanted to confirm if it’ll work on 2024 MY. For some reason when i check the compatibility, it says does not fit.

Looks identical to mine. Although it appears to be a different part number which on mine says GM# …….the number they are showing could be their own inventory number but @Mr.Corvette will sort it out for you.

Good morning!

Those chargers work with all C6/C7/C8 models. I have sold hundreds of these.

Please note there is a new part #, as shown in someone's photo above, PN 85530676. 85132786 was the old part #.

In stock ready to ship.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve already ordered it from GM parts depot. Happy to support somebody who took the time to address my concern and it’s just a trivial amount of savings. I’ll definitely check out both places in future if I need something more.
Hi, I contacted Chris yesterday to clarify and get back to you. I'm sure you used the free shipping code of SHIPGMPD to narrow any price difference.
The part will come via FEDEX very quickly as they ship same day. Thanks for supporting one of our CCF sponsors and welcome to the Forum!
If you need anything else just ask away.

They are $140.72 at cartergmpartsdepot.ca. A great source for discounted OEM GM parts.
The price I am seeing on the Carter wholesale parts website for this part is $209 including shipping not $140.72.

Yes only on the new superseded charger part #, the original (old) # is showing (with C7 logo) $140.72 but shipping is not free with Carter. Looks like we searched different part #’s. Either way the member will receive what he wanted.

The only concern is with the Lithium battery on the E-Ray (and ZR1X, presumably). Any other C8 uses a standard lead-acid battery and any float charger will work fine. There are better deals than the Corvette logo'd one GM sells.
My Corvette branded one says suitable for lead acid or Lithium ion.

Yes, that one is. But not all the third party ones are suitable for the smart battery in the E-Ray.
And I believe that is the reason why we recommend using the factory/parts charger from Corvette just to be safe even though it costs a few bucks more.
