I got around 3/4 ounce of oil in my catch can with around 8k kms. The intake was coated with oil even with it. The only way to solve this problem would be with an addtional injector for the intake with tunning. Something like the C7 and C8 ZR1. 20250913_174307.webp20250913_170256.webp20250913_213901.webp

Is it worth having for that small amount ?
They say for a DI intake engine, which won't burn off the crap, Yes. I won't explain further as I know you can use your AI to tell you why if you aren't already aware. All engines are different though and even the same vehicle's engines may or may not produce the same blow by through the PCV hose. your Perplexesme can likely give some insight.

I'm familiar with them , have never used one. I have seen blow by in old GM V8'S from the 60's even. Happens some in my old Pontiac for example. Just that the amount you mentioned doesn't seem like a lot for the number of miles. Are they recommended or necessary for the LT2 ? Asking for myself, lol............OK. Just researched about the LT2 and it seems that it can't hurt to use one . Now I have to find one on sale with free shipping, lol. Thanks . Although burning off carbon deposits is one of the benefits of using Top Tier fuel it's obviously better to get fewer in the first place.

There is no way to catch all the oil going into your intake, but it does help. You basically would need 2 catcans to be even more efficient from my personal experience on the GM 2.0 Ecotec. I did however modified my Paragon unit to make it more efficient.
The other benefit not to make it a must do but it is all up to each individual preference.

After discussion, it has been quite a while since I checked the catch can dipstick on my C7 so I had a look yesterday. It has been about 20,000 km since I did. There was about 1/4 cup in it. As far as needing one, it's a cheap insurance mod that's easy to install and drain (at least the one I bought from RaceReady garage). Excuse the dust... comes from living on 2 km of gravel road.

Thanks. It seems to be doing the job. Season's coming to an end sooner than I would like but will be looking into it for next year. Looks like a pretty straight forward install , at least on the C7 .

If you go that route, they are not generic the way they mount.

I will probably get my dealer's mechanic to do it when I go for the TX service and get the neutral release bracket installed at the same time. That one I think will be money well spent in the event she ever has to be towed or put on a flat deck and won't run.

And I do carry T15 bit+ratchet and a right size wrench to release the tranny in my emergency kit. lol..

I went with ADD W1, what I liked most over Paragon was that ADD mounted directly in line with the ports on the passenger side if the intake. The tubing length is much shorter than Paragons offering which mounts next to the left side shock drivers side. I didn’t like that much hose winding behind the engine and then bending over to the right side ports. Plus, this oil is not under extreme pressure so I wanted to go with a solution that allowed for the best chance of oil capture directly into the can. ADD W1 is highly customizable, easy install and looks great.
