Announcement Showcase reviews

As of this evening CCF will be extending our Showcase functionality to cover reviews of car parts. New categories and sub-forums will be created and you as a review author will be able to create and rate a review.

Members will also be allowed to post their own reviews and feedback directly into your item.

We hope to see constructive and impartial reviews of products and to make buying decisions a little easier for members.

Reviews will be filterable and sortable.

I'll follow this up with the actual announcement shortly tonight if all goes to plan.

Reviews will currently ONLY be open for Car Parts i.e. exhausts, superchargers, stickers that sort of thing. Reviews of services or non-car part related items will be removed. We hope to extend this to other areas in the near future if there's an appetite for it.

Reviews and ratings will be created in the same manner Showcase items are created today. Go to Showcase (menu item), click Create Item (top right button), Select Review: Parts category (not available yet) and fill out your review. Pictures may be included.

Review functionality has now been opened for Car and Parts reviews.

The way it works is as follows, say you want to review an exhaust called LMF:

1. Click showcase, select Create New Item, Select Review category from the dropdown (in this case a Part)
2. Put a name for your review i.e. LMF Loud Edition Exhaust, put your own rating if you prefer, put in a part number to help out us folks, put make, model year of car part applies to, put tags if you want to get fancy
3. Type a review, min 100 characters
4. Upload a pic or two if you want to show it on the slider

Hit post and thank you.

Users can now post their own reviews and ratings for the same item building a hopefully more comprehensive item review base.

Do let me know if I've missed any key field or element.
