Since I was in the hospital I asked my wife to bring my car for the appointment I had scheduled to change the oil on my 2023 stingray this past week. As I had bought the car out of province this was not the dealer where I purchased the car nor was it the dealer that changed the oil last year. I chose this dealer since it was closer to home. When I returned home I was surprised to see a bill for $399.00 before tax for the oil change which is supposed to be complimentary . She also asked them to wash the car on the outside, they charged $65.00. I got home late Friday afternoon, so I was unable to talk to the dealer about the free oil change . After this experience I will not be returning to this dealer in the future.

Maybe give GM customer care a call. They are looking into a similar issue for me right now. I was quoted $735.00 by the local GM dealer for an oil change. And no , it’s not where I purchased the car. Had my own oil , filter and o-ring , went to Jiffy Lube yesterday and they charged me $79.95 . While the oil was being changed they had a young guy wipe down the entire engine compartment. They weren’t busy at the time and half a dozen of the guys working there hung around talking cars and Corvettes and taking pictures and asking questions. Plus you are right there seeing everything that is being done. Great experience I must say. And no, this isn’t a paid promotion, lol .
If you are in Canada, the GM Customer Care Centre number is 1-800-263-3777 (Mon-Fri 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. EST, Sat 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

I did call customer care , they are great , they immediately sent me a voucher for an oil change to be used within a year. Monday is a holiday so I will call the dealer on Tuesday to find out why I was charged. Thanks for the tip about jiffy lube , might try them in the future.
Another thing I liked about Jiffy Lube is that they don’t use a hoist so no anxiety about body damage or the car sliding sideways off the hoist , lol .
Old school pit service from down below. Drive in one door and straight out of the opposite door. I will have to ask GM about the voucher when he gets back to me if it’s not offered. I expect to hear back early this week. And yes they were excellent to talk to. Thanks.
Perhaps you could trade the voucher with the dealership for the money you paid for the service…….

Not sure if an oil change on a C8 is generally more expensive than a C7...same motor...same high priced GM approved Mobil 1 oil. While mine was under warranty i went to 2 different GM dealers and they both charged around $250 including tax. I'm bringing it to my local indie shop for the first time now that the warranty is up, but it'll likely be around the same price since they have to buy the oil from a GM dealer.

I’m going to call the dealer that changed the oil last year for a price. $250 sounds about right for an oil change.

I’m getting my oil changed and full DCT filter/fluid change tomorrow …

Not crazy about the dealer , I’m a bit puckered up. Wish me luck.

Also have my maintenance plan from Don in hand for first use … no doubt will be a hassle just cause the dealer is smallish (maritimes) and they have not been the best so far.

It should all be 100% free …. Stay tuned 🤞

I just did my oil change on my daily commuter last week at the dealer where I bought it 6 months ago. Gone are the good old days where you went to your dealer and felt at home and part of the family. My car was super clean in and out and it came back full of brown boot prints on my black immaculate carpet. I went back in to tell the service clerk and she told me they had to get in the car to drive it in and out 🤨. WOW ! What an answer, but she sent the guy to clean it. This was my second BAD experience with their service department. They won't see me again !
BTW please don't laugh 😊 the car is a 3 cylinder with 3 liter of oil with the filter and they chage $130 plus taxes.

Oil change here $292+tax. I wrap SW, cover door sill, lowerdoor and seat, remove Lloyds driver mat for OE mat & paper service dept place mat. They get the message, saves me from getting high blood pressure anymore than I probably already have and then its an easy turnaround once back home.

But that shouldn't be ! I've been working in dealership for many years and the shop manager should take care of following his mechanics and TEACH them. I was teaching cleanlyness as a mechanic teacher in my last 23 years of work. You have to respect other's property when working on them. You have no idea how many students hit their toolbox on an aluminium bud wheel on transport trucks. I went to them right away and told them they just got cut $600 on their pay check to replace the cutomer's wheel.
How many times have you got back in your car to grab your oily steering wheel or even the door handle.

That’s one of the nice things about Jiffy Lube . No one gets in your vehicle. You just drive in and drive out yourself. That will be my go to when my included changes either run out or aren’t available to me because of my location. When I picked up my car new the seats had just had the protective plastic removed and the foot wells had brown paper covering the whole area which the salesman removed just before I drove away. I also noticed that the service department had a large tear off roll of the stuff as well . I mean how hard is that to do.

Just got a call from the dealer. "Your car is ready ... well half ready"

I'm like, ahhhh what ?

"Yeah, we didnt have the DCT filter in stock, nor the fluid required ... but we have ordered it and it will be here in 2 weeks. But your oil change is done.

I had my car booked in for 2 weeks now to get this done today, and now I have to wait another 2 weeks +/- for parts, then another appointment.

Like I just have all the time in the world to be running around multiple times to get what should have been a today job done.

I'm furious ..... and am now calling other dealerships 1-2 hours away to get this done.

When booking any DCT filter, full tranny fluid or oil change it is best to check with the parts dept that they have or will have the necessary items for your service appointment. There are ways to make sure the Parts people have you covered because the Service side can be sketchy.

Update, a dealer (probably the biggest Corvette dealer in the maritimes) have everything in stock, and offered to do me this Friday. I had to take Monday instead ... but all booked in and ready to go. Other than I have to drive an hour each way .... I'm more comfortable going there.

And "My" dealer has to take 2 weeks to get me in for anything,. I think the marriage is over.

I could, but is that my job?

I book for something, the GM machine should then insure parts are in stock, to perform said service.

I didn't pay them 6 figures for a car, to also run their business for them.

But i hear what your saying.
