Hey Guys,
Just got back from Ron fellows z06 school. I had a blast. I think I did very well and I learned a lot! As this was my first time in a school and second time ever on a road course, I feel like a crushed it. The demo laps by instructors were 1:17s on the NORTH TRACK. I got my best time down from 1:23 on the first day to 1:18 on the second.

They really don’t talk much about times as they don’t want people get caught up on their times and focus more on hitting a clean lap.

From talking with the other 5 guys in the FAST group, it seems I had the best time in the group. My question is, has anyone else been on the North Track? What were the times you were seeing there?

I’m wondering if my time was actually pretty good compared to other students who have been to Spring Mountain North track, or if it was just good for my group. Lol . I can only find one eray video on YouTube. Most of the videos are for different track.

"They really don’t talk much about times as they don’t want people get caught up on their times"

All the Instructors are huddled around a computer searching out their last class participants who are caught up on their times. Expect a "Certificate of Congratulations" in the mail soon...

With a lap time like that I think you may soon hear from either Red Bull or Aston Martin with Yuki and Lance not cutting it. Indeed, Spring Mountain is a “must do” experience if at all possible.
Bahahahahaha...

Wait my "Lawrence Stroll" contact is calling...

Did you do the course 1 or course 2? I don’t know. It just says North track. A lot of the turns were the same as what you see in Camsc8 video. His video is the extended version of my course that’s used for the advanced level courses.

If you had speed at SM why would you redo the COS? The tech session is a waste of time the second time around and Day 2 is still only lead & follow. Which is enough for most. Step up and enroll in Level 1. A similar Day 1 as the COS but a better driving experience on Day 2. I understand choosing to repeat the COS (the SM Resort is special) if a student was not in the top 1/2 to 1/3 of their previous COS class for speed. Level 1 will have groups but the driver students enrolled here are for the most part dialed in for speed and competition.

Who's repeating COS?

Definitely not me as I never did it. Gilles and I were automatically put into Advanced Level 2 and my thinking on going back was doing the same but with the Z06.

I'm kinda shocked they don't offer it with the Z06...

Fyi, this was a reply I got when inquire of someone being a new different variant C8 than the SR.

"You can apply the Z06 VIN to a level 1 class, however the advanced courses are completed in the Z51 Stingray. Please let your sales associate Kim know which class you are interested in so she can keep you posted on dates! "

Good thing Jeff wasn't in your group. He would have ordered you to let him pass and you have been stuck in Sparro's group...

Having purchased an E-Ray after trading in Stingray, I was invited back, but will not be attending.
The Ron Fellows program is terrific and I did have a lot of fun, but I simply refuse to leave my hard-earned cash in the U.S. right now.
The same holds true for vacation trips and corporate 'team-building' excursions - keeping all of it 100% Canadian.

As for my performance levels when I did go, let's just say I didn't break any records.
I did, however, have one of those rare opportunities of running the track in the rain which was kind of exhilarating on its own.

Sorry to hear that you can't get past it DW. Spent a wonderful week in the Mountains of North Carolina enjoying 70+ F weather and ripping around their crazy roads and enjoying life. Too old to care about principle. It's not like Putin tossing bombs on Ukraine. Then yes. I would take a stand...

I respect those who are patriot Canadians that take the political stand, and at the same time, you can't let one morron in the WH to take the joys from your life. 50/50
Spring Mountain is a lifetime experience for those that haven't been. I wouldn't go to the US for anything else except for SM. I will make my boycott in other ways, buy Canadian and vacationing in 🇨🇦.
