Rim cleaner

Feel weird linking another site but Chris at Carzilla is a great dude to deal with and I buy lots of detailing supplies from him personally.

I buy it in the larger bulk container and dilute it 1:4 in an IK foam sprayer.

Will not damage sensitive rims works great. I track my car a lot and this makes post-event cleanup super easy.

I’ve had good luck with P&S Brake Buster for regular cleaning. It’s much safer than the harsh acid-based stuff and you don’t have to worry as much about overspray on painted surfaces. I usually dilute it and use a soft wheel brush, and it handles normal brake dust really well. If the wheels are heavily soiled, Sonax works great too and has more bite, but it’s pricier. Once I ceramic coated my wheels, cleaning became much easier and now most of the time soap and water does the job. For me, the key is cleaning often so brake dust doesn’t bake on. The really aggressive cleaners work, but I’d rather avoid risking damage over time.
