Review - NoviStretch™ C8 Corvette Front Bumper Mask

Hello all, just wanted to post a quick review on this product. I bought it intending to use it on a trip from Saskatchewan down to Casper, Wyoming. The tight roads in the south of the province mean LOTS of bugs. I had PPF on the front end, so I wasn't concerned about scratching, but I thoroughly cleaned the car before installation.

Pros:

• Install was super easy and clear. The only thing I think I found somewhat annoying is that the OEM screws in the fender wells have a built in washer, whereas the provided snap screws are not as wide. I was a bit concerned they might pull through the plastic, but I think that's a small concern. I just added some small washer to each one.
• It was pretty effective at keeping the front of the car clean, but quite a bit of the "liquid" from the bugs made it through the mesh. I found it was super quick to clean though just with some detailing spray.

Cons:

• The main thing I ran into is that, after the trip, there were holes worn into the mesh on the three "pointy" bits on the black plastic lower lip under the front fender. I'm going to contact the company about the issue. You could potentially just add some temporary padding to the pointy bits to prevent the cutting, but I found it a bit disappointing. Hard to design a product to be universally applied, but I don't see how you could prevent the issue with the current fabric and design. It may not affect the performance overall of the bra, but I'd be concerned it's just going to tear apart. I forgot to take a picture of the tear locations after the trip.

So, my final verdict is I thought it was really effective at protecting the front end and keeping the grills, etc. clean, and installation was a breeze, but I would want to have some sort of plan to prevent the cutting issue if I was using it longer term. It's pricey if it's going to continue to tear.

Seems to have done the trick. As a bonus it could be taken off and simmered in hot water and some herbs to make a tasty broth……

I’ve had one on mine , for pretty much any and all highway trips for 2 seasons and have never had any issues. Works great. Love it.

Contact them, as the “cutting” definitely isnt right.

Wouldn’t want one on there all the time but I can see how they would be very helpful on the highway during bug season. Especially for horse flies. I’ve had them so thick on the rads in my truck it’s a wonder the engine didn’t overheat. Even had a few dozen dead on top of the engine cover one time there were that many. Nasty.

Yeah, I pulled it off at the destination, cleaned up with some detailing spray and was done in maybe 5 minutes. It saved a TON of time cleaning the front. Last longer trip I did it probably took me half an hour to clean everything up.

I didn't find the look too bad. The black matches my car's general look a bit better than most I imagine.

Bug soup was something I hadn't considered. I'll let everyone know how it goes. I've actually eaten fried grasshoppers, it couldn't be too different.

Chocolate covered ants aren’t bad if they have enough chocolate on them….. I find that even with PPF all over the front of my car, ( don’t tell Jack for gods sake) that those sun baked wind dried bugs are a “ bugger “ to remove. I Think the Trudeau government gave several million to a company in Ontario if I recall to build a cricket factory to produce protein powder for human consumption. Probably because of cow farts …… found this. Worked out as well as the tens of billions given to companies to produce EV batteries. I said at the time “ what could go wrong “ , lol.
