I bought a 2016 C7 Stingray not really knowing if it had the Z51 option. Turns out it doesn't. Non slotted rotors and 18 and 19 inch wheels. Is this the most obvious way to tell?

Yes. It would have had 19's and 20's had it been a Z51. The Z51 also had the rear spoiler but that could have been an option on the stingray as well.

Good info. Thanks. So since I plan to install new wheels I could go up to 19 and 20 inch wheels with no problem?

I also bought a 2016 Stingray advertised as a Z51. I have the 19/20 wheels but not the brakes. Also have the spoiler. I believe there was a Z51 appearance package offered on that year???? One of the first things I looked for was the NPP option which should have been on the Z51. It wasn't there either. It is the only option I would have really liked to have. Getting one from GM is over $4K. Checked a few scrap yards and they told me they don't keep exhaust systems. Have my doubts on that but if it is not available that is it.
At any rate I thoroughly enjoy the car. It is an LT2 but with all the LT3 options. HUD, PVR, etc.etc. Maybe missing some fancy sewing but that doesn't matter.

Wheel size, slotted rotors and rear spoiler are the most obvious way, however, those can all be changed to make a non Z51 Stingray look like a Z51. I would always check the RPO codes in the glove box, it will list Z51 if the car really is a Z51. That is how I proved it to the person who bought my 2014 Z51.
