Random Pictures You Took

They are getting more visible here as the days quickly grow shorter. This is just a taste. We are entering year 9 of the eleven year solar cycle so this lights season should be pretty awesome. Streets are full of Japanese tourists already. View attachment 134967
Correction on the cycle. Just found out from a friend of mine who runs Aurora viewing tours that we are actually at the peak this year going into next ! So they should be visible further south and more often than usual. Keep an eye to the sky !

My local Fish and Game club has been releasing pheasants on my farm for a few years now. Here's a big boy at one of my feeders... He was brave and let me get close...

The breasts would... They are a pretty bird but taste so much like chicken that it's almost a shame to shoot them.
They are beautiful. I wouldn't be shooting one anytime soon. Ptarmigan are hunted here but I wouldn't kill them either. They are such a beautiful bird . Dumb as a post . You could hunt them with a pitching wedge but why would you when they are so cool.

Every leaf, all at once?
We have a birch tree beside the driveway which is one of many on the property and neighborhood. Every fall it's the first to turn color and drop it's leaves. They all come off within a day and a half especially if there is any wind . A lot of the other ones will still have some green leaves on them. But the one in your pic looks like they all fell in 10 minutes and by the looks of it with no wind . Very interesting indeed.

My street is 30kph because it's a school zone which I don't mind but the rest are 45 kph which is ok but only because our roads have been getting worse every year. The problem like most municipalities is everyone complains but nobody wants tax increases. Might be time to find some new ones l think.

A poplar on the side of my property had almost all it's leaves on it 2 days ago. Yesterday it was bare and all the leaves were on the ground much like the picture above. All on top of 8 inches of snow that fell in that time. It must have something to do with the snow or the relatively sudden temperature change.

Hard to figure. Nature is amazing. Got your snow tires on yet ? We only have about an inch of snow so far.

Ya, sure is.

Never took them off. The Malibu is our winter car and used maybe 2 or 3 times a month in the summer. So it's not worth putting the A/S tires on it.
