I will be putting in some small features to very much flag to the membership private conversations that come from users that do not have history/messages i.e. new comers.
I have some measures in place already to prevent 0 msg posters to start conversations but this scam is still very much a thing on forums where there are classifieds i.e. you'll get a message pretending to be from an existing member or inferring they represent a well established member (but not from their actual account) asking you to email: [email protected] or some other offboard email address where they will work you over i.e. pretend they have the part you're looking for or scam you in all the ways.
I will explain in more detail once I get the structure figured out but messages from particular members (newcomes) will trigger a warning in the near future.
