I recently installed a pair of the Paragon lowering collars and on the drivers side, i now have an intermittent clunk while the front lift is lowering. It is just on the drivers side, and i'm curious if anyone else has noticed anything like this or has a fix?

Thx,

Must be really good roads in your neck of the woods ;) …..car is pretty low to begin with . Just took a Quick Look and found this using Perplexity AI so double check. Still interesting though.

Lowering collars can potentially damage a C8 Corvette, specifically the front axle lift system, by causing hydraulic leaks and leading to system failure; this modification will also void warranty coverage for affected parts.
Mechanism of Damage
• The main reported issue with lowering collars is that they place additional strain or improper sealing on components of the front lift system, which can lead to hydraulic fluid leaks and, over time, actuator failure.
• Once fluid is lost, the lift system actuators may run dry, resulting in costly repairs, often requiring replacement of the full strut assembly, which may cost around $2,000 or more.
Warranty and Service Considerations
• Chevrolet and GM have issued guidance that use of aftermarket lowering collars will void the warranty on the front axle (lift) suspension, making future repairs for related failures entirely out-of-pocket.
• Many dealers will deny front lift warranty coverage if lowering collars are detected, regardless of installer or mileage.
Alternative Lowering Options
• Aftermarket lowering springs are sometimes recommended as a safer alternative for lowering the C8 Corvette, as they appear less likely to interfere with the front lift system or void related warranties.
• Drop spindles are another lowering option discussed by Corvette enthusiasts, sometimes preferred for handling improvement and reducing the risk of hydraulic issues.
Owner Experiences
• Some users report no immediate issues with lowering collars even after many miles, but documented cases exist where lift system failure followed a lowering collar install.
• If warranty retention and reliability are top priorities, avoiding lowering collars and opting for alternative methods or leaving the ride height stock is generally advised.
