Oh dear!

There's a lot of Canadians still think in MPG...
Especially given the average age of ownership for the C8 at least. Considering all road signs in Canada were changed to kph in 1977 you’d think that by now….

You'd be surprised how many can't comprehend litres per hundred km.... lol...
No. No I wouldn’t disconcertingly, lol. Check “ Prime Time TV “ sometime for a clear explanation…. The metric system is no question a superior system everything being based on 10’s .

Being in survey and engineering, I had to adopt the metric system in 1970 when Canada changed over. Was a little tough at first having done all my schooling in Imperial but once I caught on, I agree with you. Superior in all ways mathematically especially.

The way schools have taught us how to convert C to F is far too convoluted ,
which is the conversion most people try to do, older folks at least. Simply take C and double it, subtract 10% and add 32 . Easy to do in your head and exact all across the scale. Below 0 just subtract 32 . ;)
K.I.S.S.
As long as I am in the ball park is good enough for me.
We don't really need to convert gals to Litres as the cars usually have a gas tank gauge to advise us to fill er up but just in case I use 4L to the gal
For temp it is double the C and add thirty (30). Again not accurate but by the time it reaches 100C (230 by my KISS factor) you'll be dead anyways.
For MPH it is KPH X 6 and drop the last figure. So 100 KPH X 6 = 600 less last figure = 60
Not accurate but in the ball park which is good enough for driving a car. Now if we were flying planes I might want to be a bit more accurate especially with the fuel.
I'll switch the readout to MPH if I am in the US for an extended time like last year when we did the Tail and museum/plant tour.
When the car was new and had the complimentary OnStar/Sirius package the gauge would switch itself to MPH when I crossed the border and obviously inverse on the way back. Big brother was useful for that but I prefer my own memories or PVR to follow what I do with the car.

Friend of mine hit a racoon and the repair bill was $3500. Can only imagine the damage hitting a deer? In the UK they use the metric system but still use MPH for speed and calculating mileage MPG??? What is confusing to most Canadians is pressure values. My U.S.C6 has the printing in the instrument cluster in U.S. measure, psi. Looking at the oil pressure gauge on the fly it's easier to relate to PSI than kiloPascals. (6.89 kP to 1 psi) I don't care to worry about MPG or Litres per 100 kilometers, It's a Corvette.;) I think calculating how many kilometers to the Litre would be easier to understand than litres per 100 km?

I agree with the km to litres !

This was about 1 mile from our house. My wife slowed too far away so I had to blow this up, but a mother bear and her baby crossed the road in front of the car.
