No U.S. allocations for March or April 2025

Any effect from tariffs?

You've got to think its because there's still a load of 2024s and also 2025s on lots with 2026 production soon to start...loads of inventory.

I just wish E-Rays were closer to the $125k mark...
Perhaps an used one in the next couple of years at that price?
I have given on that propect at a lower price point.
Unless one like to have the wide body and awd, there are options to convert a SR into an Eray in term of performance.

Sadly, most dealers in my area wouldnt take a C8 for stock today. There are well over 100 units available within an hour drive of Stratford right now. My local dealer just sold their last 2 24s and according to the sales guy that I deal with the combined LOSS was over $10K.
Did he also tell you how much they made selling them at full msrp the first 4 years the C8 was out.? They are protecting future allocations by taking allotments now. Also ordering a 3LT coupe with comp seats and forgetting to order the Z51 didn't do them any favors.

There is an art to spec’ing a car, most people get it wrong

No Z51 is a deal breaker for me. I can live with the lease attractive colour as long as there is Z51.

Agreed. Everytime I look online to see local cars in stock I am blown away with how “dumb” they are spec’d. I do notice a lot of Sales Managers are ordering comp seats with no clue of how they feel for the average driver.

My local dealer had both their 24s in stock for 1 year. Neither of them were properly spec’d for stock orders imo.

Same with the glut of 1LTs. If I was ordering a car for stock today I would order a somewhat loaded 2LT just because there aren’t as many to compete with as there are cheapee 1Lts.

I bought a 1LT left over 24 because it was wicked cheap and does everything I need it to do. Would have been nice to have heated steering wheel and seats this past winter but meh...it warms up quickly regardless.

But I wonder why so many 1LTs appeared for 2024 and the start of 2025...?

I don't understand why anyone who can afford a Corvette wouldn't want a 2LT unless they are racing it.
I, as someone who had a 2LT and now a 3LT, I honestly rarely use any of the extras that come with the 2LT and would be just as satisfied with a 1LT especially now that 1LT htc come with a camera mirror. Only thing that is missing is a front camera

I think it’s all about keeping price point low for some of the stock unit. Especially with the Camaro off the book, leaves something sporty in the showroom below or around 100k

Ya, that can account for some. Not why dealers order them and have them sitting on their lots unsold.
You get a ton with the 2LT I use it all.

No Front lift - Use
No folding mirrors - Use
10 speakers as opposed to 14 - Use (duh LOL)
No front and rear cameras - Use
No Heated / ventilated seats - Use
No Heated Steering Wheel - use
No Inclination sensor - ??
No Interior movement sensor - Use for security
No Memory driver seats - Use
No PDR - Use saved me thousand plus
No Power Lumbar and bolster support both seats - Use
No Blind zone alerts. - useful
No Theft deterrent system - useful
No Garage door openers - Use

You could say many dealers saw the writing on the wall by the end of MY23 of slowing sales ahead after 4 strong model years. With demand nearing full supply, the previously announced Liberal luxury tax and then GM’s $12,000 C8 (currency based) price hike for MY24 all but ensured going forward spec’d inventory of 1LT’s & low optioned 2LT’s would become mainstay. All in an attempt to keep C8 deals now with a negotiable MSRP as close to the psychological threshold of $100,000ish as possible. That being said the additional features included in the 2LT trim make the SR a much safer all around improved driver experience if you can make it happen.
