The image shows a classic BMW 3.0 CSL sports coupe from the 1970s. This model, often nicknamed the "Batmobile" due to its distinctive aerodynamic features, was a lightweight, high-performance homologation special built for racing.
The 3.0 CSL was produced between 1972 and 1975, with only 1,039 units made, making it a relatively rare and highly sought-after collectible today.
The "L" in CSL stands for Leichtbau (lightweight construction), a feature achieved through thinner steel, aluminum panels, and a stripped-down interior.
It features a powerful inline-six engine and was highly successful in touring car racing, solidifying its legendary reputation.
The car's aggressive styling, including the large rear wing and front air dam, makes it a standout among classic car enthusiasts.

Had a VW when I was 16. Wish I'd have seen this then.... Lol....
First car I ever drove was my Mom's 64' bug . Had to sit on the front edge of the seat to reach the pedals, lol. Drove it around the cottage in circles on the lawn in first gear . Not realizing that the patch of really thick green grass on the far side was actually above the septic system. My Father seeing this put an end to the fun unfortunately......

Wow. We have that in common. Mine was a 1958 VW my dad bought me when I was 11. My grandfather had a farm out near the Bay of Fundy and it was my toy every weekend when we went there to see him. I had a whole field and an old logging road to drive in though. It was a while for me before I figured out 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears as well. The floor was pretty much rusted out and I'd get wet everytime I went through a puddle. I had a rubber mat on the drivers side to keep dry which turned out to be my undoing as it would shift position and one day I got splashed and reached down to adjust it, and not paying attention to where I was going, rolled the VW over. Upon getting it back on it's wheels with the help of our tractor, we realized it had broke in half. lol.... Dad replaced it with a 1962 which kept me entertained for a couple more years until the motor went.

My friend was killed in a Bug when they hit a bump and the suspension folded up like a Corvair. Where was Nader then?
I was supposed to be in the car, but I decided to hang back to watch the campsite.
