Hey to all.

I have a question. I am new to the corvette hobby but have always wanted to purchase one. I just purchased a 1971 corvette LS5 roadster. The car is an older frame off restoration but frame and mechanical still looks very good. The body is another thing all together. Anyways I have two questions for anyone who can help me.
(1) Anybody know a good body shop in Toronto area ?

(2) I noticed 2 small round symmetrical holes in the bottom of the right rear chrome bumper. Anybody know what they are for ? Someone suggested to me it might be a position for the jack.

Thanks

If you can get to Dasilva Motorsports, that would be your best bet for some extremely good help.

Welcome to the forum. Love the colour of your Vette.

Definitely not jacking holes as the jacking points are on the side under the frame; for the rear wheels - 3" ahead of the rear wheel well, for the front wheels - 5" ahead of the door hinge pillar.

Manny is your best bet for service.

The holes are only on the right rear bumper. I will take photos and post. Thanks for all the input.

A picture would be the best , I can tell exactly what it is then :D

As far as I know and can find those are not original. rear bumpers are the same from 68-73. My AIM doesn't show any extra brackets for the right side either. My bumpers (and my replacement set) don't have these holes. They look large too, what is the diameter. Also, can you tell if the chrome was done after the holes were punched? Either way I don't think they are original.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the help. I don't know if the bumpers are original or not, I strongly suspect NOT!! Regardless, I will replace both rear bumpers with newer chrome. Any suggestions ? Reproduction bumpers or should I get period correct re-chromed ones ?
