Ensure you have the Corvette checked out by a knowledgable mechanic prior to official purchase.
There are a few key things in C3 cars that could be deal breakers.
Frame first....

Welcome Jay. I love C3's. Shop around and take your time. There are still quite a few good ones left out there.

Thanks Nik!Welcome @Jay Albom
Welcome Jay. As mentioned lots of good people here with good info. Do some research (if you have not already) about what to look for. Be prepared to pass up a good looking car if you find rust issues. Trust me. It is a sh!# ton of work to properly fix it and once you are in it snowballs. I love my car and I am having fun restoring it but I have often wondered about just looking for another on instead (but I am not, just cant bring myself to stop). If an owner won't let you pull of a kick panel to look for rust I would have reservations about that seller. Major areas to check include the #2 and #3 body mounts, bottom side of frame behind doors, front cross member under engine fan. Remember that early 70's cars had fiberglass floors but from '76 (I think) on they were steel. I am sure you will have lots of questions and there are lots of answers here.
Glad to see another of the best yearsD) of corvette on its way.

Thanks Black will do!Some really good advice Taylorsk8. It will be a grand and proud moment when you fire that beast up again and head down the road.
Jay, there has been a great deal of information shared with the above rebuild, might be worth going back to have a look at what is important (read expensive) and avoid the pitfalls. Again, I wish you luck with your search.
