Car
1965 convertible
Hello from the Southern US. I was looking for a Corvette blog and ran into this one. I have a 65 Corvette convertible I have owned for 35 years. It has been off the road for about 20-25 years and now I finally have it in the garage and will be getting it back together and running again. I may have some questions for you guys that have more experience with these cars than I. I have owned a 58,59,72 and 73 Corvettes in the past but this one is a keeper.

Hi Don,

Welcome. I see you are looking for info on your VIN. Hopefully you solve the mystery. Plenty of knowledgeable guys here that may be able to help.
Yes that beauty is a keeper. Keep us posted on how you’re doing getting her ready for the road again. What does the 65 need? ... better yet what are planning to do on the car?

Again welcome and enjoy the Forum.

Derek.

Thanks. I have almost everything I need for it. I need to put the engine in it and fix the headlight setup. My plans are to make it as original looking and functioning as my budget will allow. I am going to redo the interior.

This will be an exciting topic here as there are quite a few restorations going on with a few generations of Corvettes. You should have lots of followers and good advice on pitfalls. Nice you are going as original as possible.
Send as many pictures as you can. We love photos.

Welcome to the forum Don. Good luck with the re assembly. Nice Corvette.

Thanks for the encouraging words, guys. Yes, Alabama is the state. I love to fish myself. I like fishing in the Gulf of Mexico more than freshwater fishing though. Love being out on open water.

I have a buddy in Guntersville... Thats a sweet lake.... But I know what you mean about the ocean too.

Welcome Alabama!! Beautiful car! Looking forward to pics as you progress. We're in a similar place with a '64 convertible build. We're both so fortunate most everything is easily ordered from catalogue. But of course, never as sweet as finding quality GM OEM parts in their original boxes. We have a small hoard of C1 and C2 stuff and buy any OEM parts when they come up around here. It's amazing what treasures people have in their garages/basements! Please keep posting! :)

Welcome, nice that we have some friends from US on here. I am also new to this forum. Also working on my 67, so we may be helping each other out down the line.
Good luck
