New federal budget drops luxury tax on boats, aircraft (but not cars?)

I agree. I have some hobby cars I mess with so I'll just concentrate on that and other interests. The only problem is that I am getting to an age where crawling around on the ground under an old is not as much fun as it used to be. Was it ever really fun. LOL. You need to be a special type of relaxed easy going personality to work on old classic cars. Not me I guess. I have been thinking for a while that I should just sell them and buy a C8. 100 times better for the same money. I'll just let it ride until the used market drops more. It has come down quite a bit in the last while.
That's why I sold my Camaros. They were getting old and things were beginning to fail. The same thing will happen to my C8 eventually, but then I won't be able to replace it. The fun of being retired on a fixed income.

I find that building a classic car while living in Canada can be very frustrating. For most of the parts you are dealing with small companies with less than stellar engineering staff, if any, that don't take the time to make sure that parts fit and function correctly. The quality of most of the parts is not very good but still expensive. You have to deal with shipping, the exchange rate, the border, and the 50% chance that the part will show up without missing any pieces and not damaged. It won't likely fit quite right or at all. If you have to sent it back it's a huge hassle. You end up with a car that is still poorly designed, costs the same as a correctly engineered and manufactured modern car but is still worth half the amount. It's also bad for your health and too much time spent on one thing when I should be outside in the sun enjoying something else. It's still cool though, so I am having a hard time coming to terms with selling everything. LOL. Once you get in too far with the purchase of parts etc. you can't get back out in one piece.

Awesome, I would have done exactly the same thing. I already pay 50% of my salary to those leaches, and they just throw it away. I then have to pay taxes like that on after tax income if I want something like a Z06. It's insane. I think the people that are paying it must have so much money that it's beer money to them or they are old and want the car before they die, which will be me soon. LOL
But at least our Government spends what they milk out of us wisely.........

I know it sounds stupid, but there are too many guns in the hands of criminals. Gotta start somewhere. I know you have thoughts on that, but start another thread and I'd be happy to listen. That is unless you shoot me with your AK47. ;)
We already have a thread I started a while back. My statement here was merely an option to support our military and assist in reducing federal dept. If anyone is interested in pursuing the firearms discussion, here's the link. And no Murray, I don't own an AK47. :angelic:

Thanks Rruuff. It's all there.
So no more of that in this thread. Let's take it there.
