Highlights
  • Updated towards the end of '23 model year (does not mention what end '23 means)
  • Die 3 trans identified by 4 fasteners ((right image), Die 2 version has 6 fasteners
  • Migrating to new design will require additional parts (does not say which ones or how many)
  • Die 1 pans (stamped-15 bolts), Die 2 pans (cast-19 bolts), can have Die 2 pan on Die 1 case (for repairs of Die 1 trans)
  • Canister filter remains unchanged
  • For track use, Z51-equipped Stingrays with Die 3 cases no longer need the additional 2 quarts (1.89 L) of transmission fluid.

Do you know if these revised units are being installed in 2024 cars yet ?

yes 100% of 2024s
Well that’s a bit of a comfort, I think, lol . The TechLink article doesn’t go into much detail as to why this has been done, hopefully it’s something that will improve reliability. The removal of the requirement for an additional two quarts of fluid for track use is intriguing. Obviously a smaller case by the look of it.
