I realize this is old news but for anyone that hasn't caught it yet, here is Tadge's comments regarding what went wrong and why the Z06 didn't finish:

I guess that explains it. I am sure it was embarrassing for them to have the car fail.

Good find Riley -- I had read the M/T story recently and am glad to hear an explanation from GM.

All in all it makes them look pretty silly, especially after all the overheating issues and subsequent supercharger problems that have developed -- One would think that they'd make damned sure the car was in good shape......oh well .....

A retest could fix all that -- as far as I'm concerned anyway.

A bit of a surprise as well that the Z didn't finish as it keeps getting great publicity (outside of the overheating fiasco). So, nice to know it's not a failure of the Z06 as much as a failure of the prep team.
