Category: Consumables

Reputation: Positive
Sale Price: 29.95
Discount: 45%
Expiry Date: Aug 26, 2021

Description: For those like me that are old school (2015) when GM recommended Dexos 1 Mobil Oil 5-30 synthetic in the owners manual, it is on sale beginning the 20th. I for one have used this oil since day 1 and intend to keep on using it. Especially at this price. Here's the quote from my owners manual.

GM recommends Mobil 1® engine oils that show the dexos1 approved logo for its dry sump equipped engines. { Caution Failure to use the recommended engine oil can result in engine damage not covered by the vehicle warranty. Check with your dealer or service provider on whether the oil is approved to the dexos1 specification. Viscosity Grade Use SAE 5W-30 viscosity grade engine oil.

Thank you !
... as I have 2 dry-sump specimens to maintain,
my receipt states that I
"saved $112.00 today at Canadian Tire" ...

A "Manic Monday" begins as they have decided to change the isles
at my local CT today and not one isle was labelled as "18" per website.
So a treasure hunt ensued with Oil scattered throughout various isles.

Curious if "Dexos1" be a typo above as I've only been able to find Dexos2 at my CT ?
(edit - corrected in message #5 ... it is Dexos 1 !)

again ... thx

oh wait, I have this wrong as this is Dexos 1 - Gen 2
with the green logo that appears as a tiny “2” for my tired old eyes …
🤪 ... yup the "manic monday" continues

Costco Kirkland now has 5W-30 Dexos2, 37.99 for 2x4.73L, gotta be made by Mobil would be my guess
Interesting with it boxed in a C7 dry sump quantity …. I would have to confirm beyond doubt that it is just “rebranded” Mobil 1 for my Corvette though. Otherwise I cannot be tempted with no-name products. To each their own of course. 😁

I have a big shop and lots of room for storage. Would rather use out of 5 litre jugs so I can empty a jug and not worry about moisture deteriorating the oil faster. I have 5 gallon pails of hydraulic oil for the farm machinery. It gets old fast hoisting around those...lol...

Darn ... missed opportunity ...
I was on a YYC-YEG-YYC return trip yesterday ...
I coulda stopped and bought a coffee with you ...
as I do know the Canadian Tire that you like to turn into.
:angelic: ...
You'd have missed me. I went to the south store. Rarely go to the north store unless I get lost.... :Banghead:

Awesome ... I am looking forward you leading next year's Ponoka Run
onto the Highway from South Red Deer then.
All a part of our great history for pure corvette enjoyment in AB
as I would not want it any other way  .
