Mbrp exhaust with afm simulator on my new 2024 C8 HTC

Hey folks, new to the forum here. Just picked up my 2024 HTC 3LT and had the exhaust replaced with an MBRP active profile exhaust. I also previously had the performance exhaust upgrade on the car so it had the NPP modules and all.

Shop says they installed the AFM module and I can tell the exhaust is adjusting as I move in and out of Z mode, etc. can’t tell why the CEL is on but it’s complaining about emissions on the app.

Anyone else run through this? I don’t know if just resetting the CEL will help.

Did you bring it to the dealer to have them relearn/reset the NPP? I read somewhere that you have to clock the modules correctly as well.

Thanks, I’m going to have the guy I had it installed with do that. Was just curious if it could be something else. Don’t want to drive it much in this winter. I also worry the dealership will complain about it not being covered under warranty.

it definitely is. Once I get a minute I’ll post a cold start video if I can get one that does justice! Almost feel guilty taking the car out after 7pm lol

When I had my exhaust installed which is straight piped, there was another C8 owner who had his valved MBRP installed. The shop mentioned to me he was having engine light issues and the culprit was the piping. It wouldn’t allow the valves to open or close fully if I recall due to being machined incorrectly. Talk to MBRP.

MBRP is a good company and reputable.
call them up. Yours is not the first or only.
I bet they will help you.

I recount reading that the valves and module has to be properly clocked? I am assuming that there is only position for installation so to eliminate this issue?

That sucks. Mine I can tell are working. Z mode makes the thing super loud and then it dampens immediately on tour mode.

Just waiting for a bit better weather to get it checked out. I think it needs to be updated by computer. Just don’t want to drive it on the summer tires in this minus 20 weather. I really want to get on the road with it too!!

Just wanted to post an update here. Took a while but MBRP did help me out by giving me the fix. The valve clips were installed upside down which was causing the error and once fixed, the check engine light went away. I have the file mbrp sent but can’t upload it. If anyone needs, reach out.
