LS swap Volvo 940

So I been looking for a new project, and I came across this šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø Going to install a 5.3L and a 4l80e. It’s a 1991 Volvo 940 GLE. It’s 4 cylinder turbo, and automatic car with almost 450000 km on it, Yes that’s 450K km 😜. Going to daily drive the car, until I have all the parts I need, and time to do the swap. Cool car at 3100lbs and fits the family of 5 nicely šŸ‘. I already have the 5.3L, and building 2 engines right now (one for the C4 šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø)

So the story on the Volvo and how I ended up with it…….. I sold a LS1 to a guy in Edmonton with a Volvo 740 he putting the engine into, about a month later he stopped by the garage to pick up some more engine parts, and was driving another Volvo. Got to talking, and it wasn’t for sale. Another month later, he was interested in selling, so now I’m a Volvo guy 🤣.

Curious - what do you use for engine and trans mounts? Make them yourself? Or are there universal kits out there?

The 4L80 is big. I had one my in '73 Camaro, and it took some banging to get it to clear. How much room is in the tunnel of that Volvo?

This should be good.
There swap mounts and crossmember available for the Volvo’s. The 4l80 probably going to take modifications to the trans tunnel. Looking like I might do the diff swap as well, to a Ford 8.8, so I have my work ahead of me. Just starting to look at what works on these cars and what’s available. Might take me a year on this project.

So…… I sold the Volvo back to the same guy I bought it from šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø. It’s gone back to Edmonton for a winter car, and It’s going to a good home and a true Volvo enthusiast. He plans on selling it again in the spring before he moves back to BC and I’m first on the list to buy it back šŸ˜‚.
The people you meet in the car world, lol. Sold him a LS1, he sells me his ā€œspareā€ Volvo, then he buys it back, then I will buy it back again šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
The LS Swap Volvo project isn’t dead yet, just on hold until I get it back again šŸ˜‰.

Hey, I'm relatively new to this, but I'm about to start my own 89 Volvo 740 LS swap with a 5.3. I already have the STSmachining Volvo 700-900 series engine mounts, and STSmachining Retro-Fit LSX Aluminum Rear Sump Oil Pan fits Volvo 240 and 740. I also have a solution for a trans mount already. Any suggestions on how I can solve the headers dilemma without spending thousands of dollars? I was thinking of turning them around and welding a turn for them, but I'm not sure how much room there will be for routing.
