I have had several people very interested in the jack I purchased to keep in the trunk of my C7, so here are the details. It is an ultra low profile billet aluminum scissor jack custom made for California Car Cover. The jack comes with a nice storage bag, and is 13.5" x 5" x 1" when closed. You simply use a 7/16" socket and ratchet to raise it to a maximum height of 6.5". The price is $200 USD, so it works out to about $300ish CAD with shipping. Not a cheap jack, but the design and quality is first rate. With a 1" profile, it easily fits under the Corvette with a flat tire. The top saddle is also padded. You will need jacking pucks in your frame holes to use this, as you would any jack. I have the plastic snap in jack pucks which are a leave installed style, versus many people use the removable style. I keep a travel/detail/emergency bag in the trunk, which holds the jack, ratchet, socket, extension, 2 piece lugnut wrench, lugnut socket, Viar 12V compressor, emergency flashing light and Dynaplug kit. I also keep a basic set of tools, along with a complete set of travel detail products. I figure with the long roadtrips I make, it doesn't hurt to be prepared for the unexpected, and especially with the all season non-runflats installed now. I do have a platinum roadside assistance and flatdeck towing package with Hagerty insurance, but hopefully will never need to use either. A nice peace of mind to be prepared. Come on spring, I'm ready to put on some Km!

if it fits in the compartment I am in, want to see if I can get a bulk buy going maybe

should I do a thread for the admin folks cause I think there are products out there that a few people would buy and it would be nice if this site got some benefit out of it, am I going down the right pathway
admin please delete or place in a separate area for discussion or let us know your thoughts as we wish this site to succeed Jeff

One step ahead of me. I'm sure we could get a group buy going.

@turbozig who makes these? I would imagine if we get an order of 10 or more our members should get a break on pricing and or shipping.

Edit: found it. Looks like California car covers own brand. Was trying to figure out who the supplier was. I can reach out to them and see what we can do on a group buy.

not just a group buy my friend but thinking there is no reason they cannot pay 250 for a benefit for them of us spreading the word,
not only will they get a dozen purchase and maybe more of their products but was thinking that they could sponsor the site for a month contribution, only fair,

same thing when there is interest in buying anything of value, just dislike the site being a wealth of information and the businesses selling the products get a lot of benefit i.e. money and the site gets nothing but the warm fuzzy feeling of helping out with a like mind

not trying to derail the thread just add to it for every ones benefit

and thanks Ziggy you are the second best, (that allows me to tell everyone else they are the bewst and try and keep trhe few friends or guys that talk to me occasionally)

Jeff

I am also in for a purchase of one unit no matter what the price is (so if the group buy does not turn out to great I am still buying one)
I can accept the delivery for Alberta if you wish and get it to guys in the spring and I will be in Calgary this winter sometime for business for a day Jeff

Great idea Jeff. Considering we're about to or just did break into Google page 1 results with low profile billet aluminum scissor jack they kind of owe us one inadvertently. :)

I will let you guys know. It appears to be a good product based on calcover reviews (which is not saying much). If Ziggy can vouch for it we may well feature it as a product and get something going with Cal Cover on a permanent basis. Always on the look out for useful Vette friendly products.

And yes hold off buying for a little while (I will hold off too as I'm also in for one), I'd like to flex a little CCF group buying muscle and give some savings back to our members if we are able.

Great review and information Ziggy ... As I too realize run-flats are pricey, I am one who needs to consider all the options.
Eventually I will need to hunt rubber and these notes are appreciated so that I can follow up on them ... thank you!
This also endorses that peace-of-mind can come with spending just a bit more when saving on the higher priced replacement run-flats.

... and there's a tease with the "Christine" project there too - great to see her in the background ...
I'm trying to see closer in those pics if that one "head-scratching" resolve has been determined
for that part which surrounds the cooling blades ;) ...

on my list to hunt for this jack in a retail outlet as I am in Vegas at the end of March ... :Hurray:
on to plan B ... no retail outlets ... need hotel mailing address or a USA friendship :canada::Salute2:

I just spoke with our GM at my work, and he is willing to do a special group buy price for the CCF guys on a Proto J6016C torque wrench with or without calibration. I will post a dedicated thread this weekend with more details. Also, will try to do a dry run test on the jack front and back with findings. Cheers!

there is a speed wrench for 14 bucks at princess auto or the prince as I like to call them

There should be a number of items to place under the jack to increase the height

Have tried some dence cell rubber for other things and it does not compress much and cut it to fit, only downside is it stinks for a few months while gassing

use Montana shipping company in sweetgrass to get your parcels there,

then there is a company that picks it up pays the taxes and delivers it to depot in Calgary and Edmonton and is quite reasonable been using them for years will get there name or call montana shipping and they know them quite well Jeff

California Car Cover is currently having a $17 off sale of $100 or greater orders. Offer expires Sept 17 @ midnight. Use PATTY19 for a discount code. This would be a great time for the guys interested to purchase the slim jack.

THANKS @turbozig
I am going to call them this week ... I have 3 to order so far (confirming a 4th)
going to see if they want me to order 4 times or just give me a bulk discount of at least $17 each now.
Thank you
