Well, she is washed, vacuumed and waxed and now ready for the long sleep. I plugged in my CTEK, pumped up the tire pressure, had the oil and filter changed too and checked the other fluids. I don't know why I even bothered to have it changed as I only put 1830 km. on her this year but did it anyway. Total k's now on the car is 8981! Not bad for an '09. Sure going to miss her but I do this every Thanksgiving and I have been doing this routine ever since I bought my first Corvette in 1967. An old fart that just loves his toys.

We put ours away just before the salt goes down on the icy roads. Last year Remembrance Day was a day much like today and we went for an all afternoon drive after the service. It was one of the last outings of the year. It's a looooong winter. We were out for a drive today. Not much brilliant colours around this area. The trees in our yard were about as good as it got.

It is a difficult time of the year for certain, just putting summer away is a lot of work.

I think I only put on 400-500 km ... :( weird summer for me... only drove my jet ski once. No holidays either.... frick.

I still have about a half tank of ethanol 94 to run out and fill with Shell 91 for storing.

Brian

Brian, looks like we will have a few more chances to burn that 94! Forecast looks good. :)

I would have to burn a tank of Shell91 to go back to 94.

I can go 3/4 throttle with 91 and that is still fun..... drove it last on Sunday... last of the 94 and filled it with shell and ran out all of the 94.

The lower temps will mean lack of traction...... season is kinda done.

Mine's gone for storage as well.
As for your comment about changing the oil with only 1830km on it, I would do the same thing as well. Unless I didn't drive my car, I change the oil every year.
This is a crappy time of year. :( All you guys still driving your Corvettes suck (Can you hear the jealousy?). :D

So Riley. What's your thoughts about changing oil with on only 180 km on it? Sheesh... I hope it's a short winter.... And by the way... If you know anyone looking for a set of Corsa Sport axle backs that were bought from Manny in May and taken off 3 weeks ago, and a brand new still-in-the-box Vararam Snake Charmer, send them my way. I paid $ 1,968.00 for the Corsas and $ 533.00 for the Vararam (GST included) plus shipping on top of that. Corsa for C6, LS3, 2009 to 2013. Vararam fits the LS3 or the LS7. I won't give them away but since neither fits the C7, I have no use for them now. When I get a chance, I will post them here in the for sale forum. Thx

Eric

Hahahaha. 180km. Sounds pretty dirty. Better get an engine flush done. :D
180 km, I would probably leave in the car OR if I was worried at all, I would drain it into a clean pan and use it in my truck. And, I'd also do something else crazy and leave the filter on until the next change. :D

hahaha.... Not likely to the flush.... engine will get it's own personalized flush once the break in is over..... hmmmmm.... that should be just about Ponoka meet next spring.... Ginger (don't laugh....my gf named her) is now in my toasty garage for the next Gawd knows how long, and is not getting a 180km oil change or a filter change.... there is such a thing as treating your girls too good....
