A: Why would you want to?
B: I'm not sure the car will lock if the key is in the car. I know it chimes (honks?) if you do leave it in the car.
C: No it's not OK. Someone could "pull down your window with tape" (if it works on the C8) and steal your car.
At the gym it is most likely safer locked in you vehicle with scumbag thieves nowadays.Hate bringing the key with me inside of the gym. If I leave the key inside and lock it via the app, the doors will not open.
My understanding is that in some cars if you leave the key inside the car the fob and the car electronics continue to communicate drawing on both batteries. The C8 may have a sleep feature after a set time as some Euro cars have, I just don't know for sure. Manual should address the issue.as the title states
It is not documented, but you can test it. Leave the key in the car with doors unlocked for around 15-20 minutes or so (I have not tested the duration to determine the exact timing of sleep). Try and start the car and it will say "missing key" or something to effect. Pickup the key or move it enough to awaken the key and it will start. The C8 may have a sleep feature after a set time as some Euro cars have, I just don't know for sure.
Faraday pouch would be a bonus. I have an extra that I will keep in the car. Good idea to keep the car secure before sleep mode in the rare instance that I may leave it in the car.if the key is in a faraday pouch ; it can be inside the car or in the frunk.
You could have called OnStar they might have been able to unlock it for you.Crap, I locked my fob in the front the other day, i completely forgot about the app, I drove 1 hr to and 1 hr back to get the second fob. Ghee, I wished someone posted this at that time.
