iPhone CarPlay connections issues (?)

All of a sudden , my iPhone will not connect to CarPlay wirelessly. I get stuck on the apparently dreaded "Check iPhone for messages" screen. It appears to connect, but eventually will error out after a couple minutes trying to get messages.

This is the same phone that I used last year (iPhone 14 Pro Max) without issue. Of course it has had a few IOS updates since then.

I can connect my wifes phone near instantly to car play, which rules out the car.

I've read and tried everything I can think of, short of resetting my iPhone back to factory settings (which is a non starter given all I have on it.)

Anyone else learn any tricks to sort this, or am I just outa luck?
 
weirdest thing. I hopped into my Volkswagon Atlas SUV, and added my iPhone to CarPlay in seconds , with zero issues. I had reset my network settings, and cleared CarPlay of my "Atlas" ... and it connected flawlessly.

Back to my vette, tried again, no luck.

This is frustrating as all get out. My wifes phone connects to the vette, so not the car. My phone connects to other vehicles , so not my phone.

About to give up.
 
well your Vette works with your wife's phone, your phone works on the VW. it really looks like a setting or a connection that needs to be erased/forgotten between your phone and the vette.

I am not sure if you answered one of my question from above...Did you connect your phone via USB to the vette? Does it work?
 
I'm having the same issue. '22 C8 and iPhone X, CarPlay work as easily as shifting Gears. New iPhone 16 iOS 18.4.1 won't connect. Wife gets into car with her iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 17.6.1 connects. Have tried several times to connect but no luck, even with deleting the phone from CarPlay. Am going to try changing the device name to see if that works.
Let us know the iOS versions you have.
