I was wondering if anybody was disappointed with the run-flat tire ride on the new c8 I didn't notice that much difference I had an m850i BMW before and the ride was absolutely terrible with run flat
I was wondering whether anybody felt disappointed with run-flat tires and the harsher ride they have I believe I have them but I didn't notice it bad

The ride is fine on the factory run flats on my C7. When I had my C5, I went from run flats to non-run flats when they wore out...mainly as 15 years ago the run flats were double the price...not sure if that's still the case. I honestly didn't notice much of a ride difference - the new ones though were all seasons and the traction was much better in wet weather.
When my C7 tires wear out I am definitely getting all season's...whether they will be run flats again I'm not sure...if there's still a large price difference I may go the same route as on the C5. On the off chance that I get a flat (never did on the C5), the CAA can tow me to the nearest garage to get it fixed.
I did notice a significant difference in ride quality on my C4 but not so much on my C7 with the Pilot Sport 4S tires and magnetic ride. With the Pilot Sport AS4 tires (all season) the ride with run flats was very good and they were better in the rain than the 4S and the AS tires are quieter and they wear about 15% longer. I could not notice any difference in handling on the street but the instructors at Spring Mountain said that the 4S summer only tires were better on the track but not a whole lot better. My C8 came with the AS tires and I am very happy with them.

I did notice a multitude of all season tires for the c8 I'm not sure why that is cuz I don't plan to drive mine in the winter but if they wear longer that be another consideration I'm not a track guy at all so I'm not close to having to make a decision anytime soon just wondering if there's any other advantages to all season over possibly lasting longer
Aside from a bit better ride and quieter the biggest advantage is being able to drive the car in the shoulder seasons when the temperatures start getting down around freezing. Michelin is ver clear the Pilot Sports should never be driven below around 5C. From personal experience I can tell you that the $S tires are nasty in cold weather and break free very easily until they are good and warm and it seems to take forever to get them to warm up in daily driving when it is 5C or below unless you can get them out on the highway for 1-15 minutes of fast running. In running around town doing errands they never seem to come up to temperature. The AS tires are fine in the cold and you can run them on the coldest winter days although they should not be considered appropriate for snow, just cold temperatures.
Yeah... when I bought mine in October, it was rather exciting driving the car home with a skiff of snow on the ground... nearly hit a curb and almost spun the car in another area...

I appreciate all your responses I'm just wondering people keep talking about all season but are you talking all season run flat or just all season tires.
The run flats are great. The ride is perfect for a Corvette. Its not a Cadillac..Unless you have the Magride then it is both!
The all seasons are good for me since we drive the car year round.
I have never driven a C8 with the performance tires, but we are told by GM that the A/S are almost as good as the performance version. I can only compare them to my Camaro that had performance non run flat tires and I find there is big difference in the amount of push / understeer with the A/S.
Not sure what I'll do when the factory A/S tires wear out. Not sure if I could be bothered changing rims and tires twice a year.

My C5 replacement tires were all season...non run flat. Didn't notice much difference on the ride part between the previous (summer) run flats. Just the traction was so much better. I will definitely be getting all seasons on my C7, whether they are run flats or not I'm not really too concerned...if the RF's are not that much more expensive now, then I'll probably go with those.

I assume he meant run flats vs non run flats. Run flats should have a stiffer sidewall and therefor a harsher ride. Do they even make a non run flat for the C8?

Modern Michelin ZP tires don't ride any worse than the non-ZP version of the tire. Unlike the early Goodyear runcraps, these don't use extra stiff sidewalls to provide the runflat function. There's an extra stiff rib located to the inside of the tire from the sidewall that doesn't even come into play until the tire is nearly flat.
I have AS runflats on mine and am very happy with them. The instructors at Ron Fellows say the A/S tires can keep up with the summer tires for 4 to 5 laps on the track before they overheat and start to lose traction. You'll never get them that hot on the street.

Actually you can now order either run flat OR all season. I would think that for the majority that all season are the way to go.
The all seasons are ALSO runflats. Fact.
The oem run flat has a slightly harsher ride then my new summers. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if you have mag ride which I don't. No big deal.
