Just to clarify, the first two oil changes as well as the first TX service are included in the purchase price. And perhaps you might want to reach out to @Mr.Corvette for a very good deal on an extended warranty. If you haven’t done so already of course. Highly recommended. And blogs for the most part are questionable information at the best. Depending of course. Are you serious! First off C8 corvette only comes automatic. Read the sites regarding the importance of having the trans filter and fluid changed at 7500 miles @ about $2,000.00. Read the blogs of those who had to have their C8 towed.

Happy, your close with what you said here. DCT at 12,000 and the first transmission fluid change is required at 72,000 km OR Every 3 Years whichever comes first. The GMPP maintenance plan covers both after the first free DCT filter change is done at 12,000 km within 2 years on a 2023 or 3 years on a 2024-2025 model year car. GM sent a letter out in November 2024 to remind C8 owners of the maintenance schedule requirements to maintain your factory warranty.Hello Swaite, welcome to CCF!
Blogs, Smogs, Here in Canada we change our DTC filter at 12000km. and we get it done free of charge.(this little winking guy means I am joking)
All humour aside Swaite, there is no reason that you need to change all the transmission fluid at 12000km, it is only a top up of displaced fluid from the DTC filter removal. Full transmission fluid change is not required until 36000km.
I am sure there is a BLOG somewhere on the internet that states this. Do you actually own a C8 or are you just C8 bashing for the heck of it?
This is exactly what the engineering team told me when I asked them about the failure rate. Great answer! There is no official published failure rate for the C8 Corvette convertible top (HTC) mechanism. However, online owner forums and discussions indicate that while failures are reported—such as cable issues, sensor faults, or the top not operating as expected—they are not extremely common. Many owners report no problems at all, especially in newer models.
When issues do occur, they often trigger a “Service Convertible Top” message and require dealer attention, but these seem to be relatively isolated incidents rather than widespread failures. In summary, while the mechanism is complex and some failures have occurred, there is no evidence of a high failure rate at this time.
There is no official statistic from GM, but forum discussions suggest that less than 1% of C8 Corvette convertibles experience cable failures with the hardtop convertible (HTC) mechanism. Reports of cable issues exist, but they appear to be relatively rare compared to the total number of vehicles produced.
Much much lower than the failure rate of Trumps policies, lol .This is exactly what the engineering team told me when I asked them about the failure rate. Great answer!
Exactly, 1313 days to go!Much much lower than the failure rate of Trumps policies, lol .
You lose almost all your storage space with a coupe and the top stored in the back. That’s why I bought a HTC and love it. IMO the aesthetics were much nicer too in the HTC. I love all vettes enjoy your ride.Buy a coupe .
Very true. For me in my climate, the HTC didn’t really make sense. Case in point. At 6,065 km I have yet to remove the top, lol. Probably too lazy . Not that we don’t get lots of warm weather. One of the sunniest places in the country actually. You lose almost all your storage space with a coupe and the top stored in the back. That’s why I bought a HTC and love it. LOL...I've had both, and there is no comparison...HTC is so much more enjoyable, and when it started raining yesterday, I must say, pushing the button at an intersection was pretty convenient... I don't believe most buy the C8 because of where the engine is located, we don't really have a choice, it just happens to be in the back....I have had my Coupe for almost 5 years. Drove with the top off once. Wore a hat to protect myself from sun burn. What is the purpose of having a Mid Engine car if you hide the engine. Oh yeah, the people that install plastic covers on the engine bay and then stage the HTC to see it at shows lol...

Totally disagree! I bought it for that exact reason. A mid engine sports car! Always wanted one. Had many performance front engine cars. They don't compare.. I don't believe most buy the C8 because of where the engine is located, we don't really have a choice, it just happens to be in the back....

Jack,
When you trade in for the ZR1-X, where will your cooler go, should you decide to take the roof off?
For myself, I trust that the engine is still there - I don't need to see it.
Personally I prefer the look of the coupe, especially from the rear but of course to each their own. Always nice to have choices.Totally disagree! I bought it for that exact reason. A mid engine sports car! Always wanted one. Had many performance front engine cars. They don't compare.
They both have pluses and minuses. I had no choice. They only had coupes when I ordered mine. lolPersonally I prefer the look of the coupe, especially from the rear but of course to each their own. Always nice to have choices.
lol...who really cares what anyone thinks...bottom line, buy the car you like and can affordTotally disagree! I bought it for that exact reason. A mid engine sports car! Always wanted one. Had many performance front engine cars. They don't compare.
