All those who are not vaccinated are at much higher risk of contracting covid than the vaccinated population. There are breakthrough cases in vaccinated people. This may be due to virus mutations occurring in non-vaccinated populations and inter-species mutations. BC just announced they will be closing the mink farms because minks are easily susceptible to CV-19 and could serve as a "well" for future covid infections. Sheesh! More fake news scaring people.
We have are now in to the fourth mutation and maybe even the fifth with Delta+ variation. All fake news of course. Just goes to show that the virus is quite happy to mutate in anyone who contracts it. Some people seem to want to keep the virus at the top of the list for mutations and infections. If you are one of them then don't get vaccinated. You are a friend of CV-19!

Heck of a lot of them are. Funny how easy it is to get a vaccine down there yet the holdouts are still "holding out"
De Santis is not helping anything either. Just going whole hog in to the fight and letting the ignorant fall by the wayside.
Those who ignore the science around CV-19 are more likely to be culled.

WHO's Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) has concluded that the Pfizer/BionTech vaccine is suitable for use by people aged 12 years and above. Children aged between 12 and 15 who are at high risk may be offered this vaccine alongside other priority groups for vaccination. Vaccine trials for children are ongoing and WHO will update its recommendations when the evidence or epidemiological situation warrants a change in policy.

Your original questions were about teenagers. Children applies to 11 and under according to accepted medical demographics.

Yeah and I live in the tinfoil hat capital of Canada. Nelson and the West Kootenay have always had the highest percentage of unvaccinated children. Still have 200+ people showing up at city hall every Saturday to protest the mandates. Homeopaths and naturopaths: pass a bottle of water over your head and be cured! I make dry martinis that way (just wave the bottle of Vermouth around in the general vicinity of the Gin). We also have the greatest population of looney chiropractors censured over and over for claiming jerking your back can cure autism, cancer, make your dick bigger, you name it. The whole place is one, big alternate reality. As a province we lead the country (outside the maritimes) but M. Le Baron points out the obvious, even with a near 80% rate we still have almost half a million unvaccinated. That could absolutely crush the entire health system in a week with a serious outbreak (already is in some areas). And then there's the stubble jumpers having to send everybody to Ontario...

Ted Cruz has found the real vaccine enemy: Big Bird​

Big Bird is part of a conspiracy to get your 5- to 11-year-olds vaccinated against Covid-19! That damn yellow bird wants your kids to get a vaccine that will not only protect them from a virus that has killed more than 750,000 Americans but also keep them from unintentionally spreading it to parents and grandparents who may well be more susceptible to more serious infections even if they are vaccinated.
Almost on cue, Donald Trump's son Eric picked up on the Big Bird tweet because of course he did.

See, here's the thing: Covid-19 is an infectious disease. Which means that when you make a decision not to get vaccinated, it's not just about you and "your own medical choices." It's about all of us. It's about giving the virus more chances to mutate in ways that produced the Delta variant. It's about unnecessarily endangering those who may not be able to receive the vaccine because they are immuno-compromised. It's about protecting older people who have been vaccinated but are still potentially vulnerable to breakthrough infections.

So, no, Ted, this isn't about "government propaganda...for your 5 year old!". It's about using every tool at our disposal -- including an 8 foot tall bird -- to remind people that we are all in this together and that we have a shared responsibility to protect the most vulnerable among us. Simple.

I might start watching Sesame Street again.
