Hi guys... this is my first time on a forum. I'm a long time car and corvette enthusiast. I've been around cars since I was a kid, father was a car dealer and also is an avid Corvette guy too. Im also an auto mechanic of 10 years. I've owned, so far, 2 vettes, a black 79 4 spd and the one I have now. I love doing my own custom mods on my 88 and I always try to do something different. I look forward to talkin vettes with all of you!

Welcome to the forum.

CCO... thanks! It was a good time... spent it with my 2 little ones so I had fun.

Riley... I purchased the car October 2013 in stock form, more or less. It's got a hypertech chip as purchased and I've since replaced the exhaust with a new catback of my own design. The system was rottenough and I wanted a better flowing system so I made my own. Looks like the Callaway sledgehammer but with 2 tips instead of four. I've also removed the entire a/c system and A.I.R. system too. This summer I'm planning on lowering the car to get rid of the fender well gaps and maybe start working on the 383 build I've been longing for a while. I also am into building custom auto electronics so I've got a project on the go which, when finished, will include a 7-segment display around the instrument panel which is going to be used as a shift indicator. I have an automatic but I drive it like a manual so I wanted to have a bright indicator of what gear I'm in. Plus I'll be modifying the shifter gate with a lockout for neutral and reverse. That's about where I'm at so far! Any future plans for yours?

Hi Bill! I always have future plans for mine........... and they never happen. :(

So, with that said, unfortunately, I'm pretty much putting new rubber on the car in the Spring and will most likely look at lowering a touch, (around 1") and am researching new shocks/Sways. I was going to put on new wheels to boot but realize that I need a house first.
My long term plan is to replace all the parts on my C5 with C7 parts in about 8 -10 years. In other words, get a C7. :D

VT65. ... that works for me! 88v it is then.

Riley... I love the idea of modernizing the earlier (c1-c6) bodies with new Gen stuff... I think that's an awesome plan to put c7 parts on the c5. I'm planning on doing sort of the same thing. Things like a push button start on my c4! I hear ya about not getting mods done fast enough. Ever since I had kids I've been struggling to find 20 mins to do anything! :D

Range... I'm actually in Barrhaven. Looks like you're just up the road! It's pretty awesome to see there are some other guys with these cars who "actually" like them! I love mine and will praise it all day long. So far everyone on this forum has been super friendly. Again.. really nice to see. I usually try to make it out to the racetrack slots show on Albion and I hit up Kanata when I can to. This year if I have the time ill be aiming to hit the merrickville show. I imagine you would be going too?

Ford... for sure... it's already driving me nuts! I almost took her out yesterday during the mild weather we had here... I guess I gave up my chance until the spring!

Cal... thanks! I can see from your pic you have a yellow one. That was a pretty low numbers option for that year I think, right?

Lived in Barrhaven......grew too much, moved to the country. NEVER will return. Kemptville has a great Friday night cruise......Kanata is really popular, RCR, went once on a Corvette Night. Not a lot of C4s in any show, but I will be the first to admit, I would rather drive my car than park it in a lot and have people ignore me.

88V, easier to type for sure!! No real plans for mods on my Z06. Bought 18/19 CCW wheels last year with new Michelin Pilot Sports, that is about it. Dasilva Motorsports did a whole maintenance package for me last May. Really happy with dealing with them, Manny is a good guy.

Money no object? Headers and a cam. I am however happy with the performance of the car.
