2009 ZR1
New vette owner , two months ago I traded in a 05 911 for a 09 ZR1 . It's a truly unbelievable machine scares the crap out of me . It's twice the car of the pcar but at least it never broke down. I'm having some tranny trouble but in all fairness I've just beaten the crap out of it . Can't wait to get her rolling again .

Welcome to the forum Foggy1. Looks like a nice car, best of luck getting the transmission sorted out.

Thanks Hopefully I don't have to spend too much of the kids education savings lol

Seems like you are making the kids education choice for them! Mechanics school is FAR less expensive than university and you would have a mechanic on hand anytime something happened to the car. I see it as a win-win. :D
Welcome to the forum!!!! Hopefully changing the trans fluid will sort things out for you. Also, one other question, is it actually the transmission giving you issues or could it be the clutch? A lot of high RPM shifts puts a lot of debris in the clutch fluid which could affect your shifting. I would suggest that unless your clutch fluid is crystal clear, you get new fluid in there and then see if the tranny is still giving you issues. I change my clutch fluid every year.

Thanks everyone ! I did do a clutch flush no help I'm taking her into Dasilva in a week at worst they will be doing a rebuild after they check it out and while it's there they will be hooking me up with a Couple other upgrades I was planning for next year should be sweet . Ps my son is doing a mechanic co op in HS fingers crossed lol

I know Riley is just kidding, well maybe not!

However I needed some maintenance work done on my 2003 last year. Manny gave me some suggestions to consider of what he thought would be items to touch on in a 11 year old car. No pressure, just advice. I ended up leaving my car with Dasilva for nearly a month while we were away. Not once did I worry about the car, even though it had never been out of my sight before.

Dasilva Motorsports did what we agreed was necessary. It was a no stress project. They looked after me and my car very well.

I was pretty relieved after talking to him today , he was way more knowledgeable than most other tranny guys I talked to . And from what I have now been reading on this site and all my replies sounds like I certainly made the right decision to go that far . Thx everyone

Hi Kevin and welcome , as you have already noticed , your ZR1 is an amazing machine . These cars are not only great on the street but also make fantastic track cars . Once we have it ready for you , take to CMPT and really see what this car can do .

Thanks Manny I'm looking forward to meeting you and seeing your shop . I did some lapping days with the 911 there with Apex . I couldn't tell you how many Corvettes passed me on the track , I can't wait to get out there and try her out .
