Hay from calgary, representing the under twenty with a vette that daddy didnt buy

Welcome. Glad to have you, 79vette ...... and "hay" back at ya from Cambridge ON.

Great to hear about your 'vettes. It's not a cheap car and not a cheap hobby that's for sure. Kudos for doin' yer own thing --- twice.....

Well you're twice as far ahead than I am ... I'm on my first 'vette and Dad didn't buy it for me either. (God bless him). I think like many Dads he'd want me to earn it which is exactly what I did.

Enjoy your 'vette and I have to say, since I don't have one any more, enjoy your Dad too.
I would gladly trade mine for my Dad's return -- in a heartbeat.

Would love to see pics and hear about life with your vette out west.
You've got a lot of company out there and a lot of admirers here in the east.

Cheers,

Colin.

Thanks man! I only own one I used one to finance the other. And yea I think my dad wanted me to earn also didn't wanna fund his 18 year old buying a corvette lol. Now I'm tewenty and saving up for my third! Fingers crossed blue C6 Z06 new as I can afford! Only thing blue and Z06 is damned hard to find

Welcome 79!!! Congrats on your second vette. Pics please. Yes Colin I understand what your saying, fortunately I still have my dad. I spent more time with him this past winter (ice fishing) than I have in years.

Glad to hear that, SB,.... and indeed all you sons and daughters and Moms and Dads out there.
I'd give my right arm as well as my 'vette to have that chance again.

I miss my Dad, and man would he have enjoyed my 'vette too.:driving:

Colin.

Welcome to the forum.
Like Colin I'm on my first Vette, And my Dad is gone as well.
When I was twenty I was driving a 68 Mustang and wanting a Vette......... As it sometimes goes in life, vette ownership had to wait.......... until 58 years of age.... LOl ! But I made it.

Colin, I hear ya and understand..... both my Mom and Dad are gone, and my only brother left us way too early....... would swap my vette for any of them.

I got pics I'll get moar of my C3 they just weren't on my laptop!

Load up your pics when you can '79 ..... We love pics here at CCF.... and in case I forgot -- Kudos for having a 'vette and already owned 2.. That takes work and dedication.

Enjoy your Dad, I'm sure he's just as happy for you as ours would be were they here, and Brian: know that our Dads and Moms are watching us and enjoying this as much as we are.

Just checked out the rides there, 79vette, -- Love 'em! From the '67 Chevelle thru the BB C3 to the C5 Z06 -- All beauties and very well looked after.
Much kudos for doing so.
Was the Chevelle grannies b4 you got it? That ride has aged very well.

You mention "your next 'vette". What's tugging at the heartsrings (and pocketbook) now.....maybe a ZR-1 or C6 Z06, or back to a C2 maybe a '65/'66 BB????

I lusted after one of those when in my teens but have since been spoiled by modern technology so I'll stick with my C6 GS.....unless I get a bigger garage and a windfall of cash.

Cheers,

C.

Yea the chevelle was my great grandmothers she bought it from a dealer hear in Calgary in 67 and now it's mine and yes it has it's stilll all original and the intirior is also minty and factory.

And my next one is Gunna be a C6 Z06 from Canada or possibly a ZR-1 if the price is right. But defiently needs the two phase exhaust or the two phase available from billy boat. Yea so watching my pennies.

I do love the classic BBC cars but I'm the same and am spoiled by modern technology n don't think I could do without all the gizmos

Yea its a 2 speed slip-n-slide power glide. N whitch vette? The 454 I had no idea but has to have been more than 300. And the Z06 I have so it makes the 405 at the wheels.

HA! Nice stable you got going there! I love the 6 in the Chevelle. I'm a 60's guy at heart and also have a '66 Chevelle that I take out when I want to make noise. It was a power glide but then put in a 4-speed for a little more choice and control. Sounds like you have your eye on a couple awesome rides!!!! Let us know how it goes! Love your cars, they look great!
