Yup . You have to use both feet to shift .....

Yep. It has an auto mode mode when you don't want to shift the car or when your wife wants to drive the car. I would pay premium for this feature tbh.

I'd have to drive it. see how it reacts. What happens if you forget to downshift for example. On the C8 it shifts down at a certain RPM regardless. How tactile is it since it's all by wire. etc.

Probably feel different from a mechanical linkage I would imagine. And would you still be able to grind a gear ? Lol.

The Ferrari system feels very mechanical apparently. The car will stall and bog if you don't shift the car. It is not like a video game.

Very interesting development. As the test drivers noted, it feels like a standard transmission. Certainly will not be a cheap option' but it is very innovative.

If you guys do a deep dive on pricing of this option and the history of GM outsourcing options like this,
you will have your answer. Todays focus at GM Canada was Cadillac.

And there goes the option of speed shifting through the gears.... maybe 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6 would be decent but a gated manual...Try power shifting that pattern from 2nd to 3rd.... No thanks...

And they are probably already sold out. Ferrari can charge wtv they want and it will be sold out. They need to get back the R&D cost some how and make a pretty penny along the way. Other models will get this system soon I think.

The take rate for manuals is too low to justify the engineering costs for GM. We can dream, but the DCT isn't going anywhere.
