Front Lift OPTION--Owners Poll

Is the Front-Lift a "Must-Have" option on the C8?

I've had C8's with and without it, do you pan on lowering your car because it's a lot more difficult with lift and voids front lift warranty.

Every one of my C8's have been lowered and never needed the lift while driving but I don't live in the city with underground parking and speed bumps

I did find it useful when I wanted to lift the car with my hydraulic jack for body clearance

HTC is 3 years old no issues.
Had a 78 / 03 and 06 and never scraped the front end .
Know many C8 owners with the lift, modules needed replacing / software upgrades. Hopefully GM has figured out all the glitches.
Good luck
Have had 2 C8’s both with lift not one issue yet. Love the option

Have it ... love it ... always use it ( even when I probably dont need to ) ... piece of mind

Never had an issue with it ... but of course there will always be situations where lift or no lift ... you will scrape ... ;)

Steep driveway that needs help. Asphalt or concrete? : r/Concrete

I think it really depends on where you are driving. I got my C8 used and the one option it did not have, that I would have ordered if I had built the car, was the front lift. That being said, I have never scraped the bottom of the car so far (even with an aftermarket splitter). I am out of the city. I have heard from friends who work in TO and are going in and out of underground parking it is a must have.

Good insight. Ty. And i appreciate everyone's response. I learned a lot

Opted not to get it. Same experience as ontcanuck. I've touched very few times, and always the air deflector in front of the tire, not the splitter. Was on a road in the US with very large speed bumps one after another for blocks. No issue, just approach/exit on a slight angle if in doubt. I figure the lift is only good until the one time you forget to use it. FWIW you can replace both air deflectors AND the entire Z51 front splitter something like 4 times for the cost of the lift.

Maybe. If you did the work yourself. Much easier to keep your eyes open and push a button IMHO . To each their own I guess. I have had a few situations in the 5250 total km on my car where I know that I would have hit bottom or front edge.

been there I saw no problems except some pot holes
You've been to Mount Albert Home Hardware? ;) lol
Seriously I'm not sure if I would have got it, but my wife said if you want the car there were 2 demands.
It had to be red and have the lift. She doesn't like scraping or going in on angles etc.
I just said "Yes Boss"! LOL

If you plan on spending money on an aftermarket front splitter (ACS or similar), having the front lift option will greatly reduce the chances of damaging it. I have a Z51 HTC without front lift and have scraped the stock front splitter on a number of occasions due to steep entry/exit points on ramps. The worst type of ramp I've experienced are those used to board or get off of a ferry.
