Finally, Lazy Ass Jack Installed His Soler Throttle Controller...

What a pain in the ass that was. I think I punctured a lung trying to remove the throttle assembly bolt. Then I couldn't remove the clippy thing from the pedal. 50 minutes later I complete install I start the car and the Hood Open warning comes on. It's closed. Shut down and re fire a couple times, no good. Pull out of the driveway and the 140 decibel alarm goes off. Call OnStar. Wait 15 minutes for buddy to tell me to go to the Dealer. In that time I'm on the 'net looking for solutions. Pull into garage and restarted in a hour. Problem solved.
Lessons Learned : Don't open you front hood for an extended period of time...

I am still thinking about getting one . Haven’t looked but I would bet the company selling them has an installation video. Would you now recommend one even if your wife wouldn’t ? Just looked. There are 63 videos on the Soler website , lol. Perplexity has a fairly generic install guide and some links but Soler has everything you need on there .

Yes I watched a couple of videos several times and they make it look easy and fast. But if you can't remove a bolt and unclip the throttle thing, it turns into an ordeal. Cramps included...



I just cleared the Border back into Canada. Spent an hour on "Ludacris" 7 driving through town. Huge difference putting the power down. Going to leave it there for the rest of the day and try "Track" tomorrow.

Still set to Ludacris 7. Really enjoying the quicker throttle response. Good solid product. Should be fun in the snow lol...
