Fav car movies. was: Two Lane Blacktop

I edited out the commercials. Which part are you referring to?
There is only a very brief moment before the explosion where you see the Camaro explode.
I believe the challenger is in every other scene that I saw. Not sure about the car that is on it's nose after the explosion.
At the 127:51 mark . Post #14 .

You see the vehicle just a couple of car lengths before impact. It’s a Challenger at that point. Just fast forward to the 127:51 mark.
Yes, it's a challenger until the cameras angle shifts to the rear of the car. For a few frames it's then a camaro Like I sent. I'll upload the video of it tomorrow.

I edited it and slowed it down.
Note the camaro tail lights on the car just as it hits the dozers. Also the hood that comes flying off is flat with no raised features like the Challenger had. Also the rims on the destroyed car are not mags. Plus in one scene at the end you can clearly see the word Camaro.

Another fun fact is that in the final scene in which Kowalski drives his beautiful white stallion into a pair of bulldozers, none of the five challengers were used. The shell of a 1967 Camaro with explosives replacing the engine and transmission was used and was towed behind the 383ci Challenger into the barricade.

Thanks for finding that. I kind of figured it was full of explosives because it seems to blow up before hitting the dozers.

Definitely a Camaro . Even without seeing the name tag . Interesting.

The original with Steve McQueen is paywalled everywhere I have looked. Great movie though.
You mean the 1971 movie "Le Mans"? I have that one.
"Driven (2001)" is another decent racing movie.

That be the one . I have seen it several times before and I think at one point time years ago on cable. It’s getting to the point that just about everything has a price tag on it these days. Like paying to subscribe to a streaming service and then having commercials shoved down your throat. Dicks . ( Gemini ? ) lol. I’ll take a look for Driven .

The recent movie “ Ferrari “ on Amazon is really quite good but of course you have to subscribe. Rush which is about the rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda is also pretty good. Also on Prime.
Hey I’m watching Rush. Check it out now on Prime Video!
Watch Rush online – Prime Video (https://app.primevideo.com/detail?gti=amzn1.dv.gti.2ca9f777-3bc3-99ab-dff5-b68ce2e6bf26&territory=CA&ref_=share_ios_movie&r=web)
I've seen Rush. For some reason I don't have a copy of it.
And of course my personal favourite. Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby :D
