Hey guys, hoping someone can give me a hand.
Bought my c6 corvette last year and it doesn't have NPP unfortunately. It wasn't nearly loud enough and I found a good deal on a Borla Axleback so I picked that up last year. It's still not nearly loud enough. What would be a good next step? Should I do a full catback? Just looking for a little more noise out of it but want as little drone as possible.

Loud was a novelty after only about 2 months for me with a 98 Grand Prix & the SLP cat-back.
It then just came a nuisance tone when trying to enjoy tunes while driving.
... I heard loud now gets you a drive-by photo ticket in Edmonton ...
I figure it's only a matter of time that the loud-ticket photo money-grab citation will be everywhere.
 
Lots of videos on youtube where you can hear exhaust systems. Borla are usually known to be pretty loud unless it was the Borla Touring you had. The Borla ATAK is the most agressive but be careful of the drone possibility. Have talked to some who have had to change away from Borla because of this but that was several years bck so they may have figured out the drone problem. Corsa are famous for no drone and the Xtreme is a pretty agressive sound. I had the Corsa Sport on my C6 which was just right for my taste.

 
Hi @c1smith11, as @Rruuff Day said I switched out my OEM axleback for an NPP system with Mild2Wild wireless remote. Definitely louder but not like full exhaust change outs. You have a Borla system. I would suggest you change out your catalytic Converters to hi-flow ones. Several members say this makes quite a difference. This is going to be my next step as I still want a bit more aggressive sound.

Not sure this helps: my son installed a very expensive exhaust system on his Audi A4IS as he wanted a loader note; however, what he found was that at hwy. speed there was a constant drone which drove him crazy - hard to communicate on his cell and hear music. He is in sales; so, spends a lot of time in his car. He removed and sold the system and re-installed the OEM exhaust.

Further to my other comment: my previous car which I bought new: 2007 Mustang GT500 , I had it lowered and updated the suspension as well as had MAC exhaust installed - 4" tips and a beautiful rumble - sounded awesome!! I installed Magnaflow on my C5 to replace my OEM at 18,000 Km because they corroded and were way more expensive than the after market MF and the MF had wider tips and sounded awesome.

There are lots of loud exhaust systems out there but there are only a few good ones that don't drone. I took the advice of this forum when I joined 5 years ago and never had to look back.

I have NPP installed on mine with Mild to Wild remote and I love it. I leave it on Wild all the time, but occasionally if I want it to be quieter, I just hit the button and the car goes quiet! In my opinion it’s the best of both worlds!
